Mama got two DELICOUS looking birdies today and she refuses to share them with us!! No fair!!

She did let us inspect the cage while she cleaned all the pet store dust off it, but still....

Here I am, making the initial inspection, while mama cleaned out the dishes.

"Hmmmm, how do I get this door opened when those critters are in here? Oh, I mean, what a secure looking door, dad!"

Its a good sized cage, enough room for me, uh, I mean two birdies...

Then Phoebe wanted a turn, so I decided to share. I figure good kitties get first pick of BAD birdies...

Noel didn't seem to care...I guess she had my good kitty, bad bird idea from the start. She always was the smart one...

("NO WAY!! Birds INSIDE the house??? SCORE!!! ;) )

Here are the delicacies...I mean, the new residents of our household. They don't have names, but meowmie says they are both girls.

Unfortunately, she put them way up high and covered them with a towel...no getting a snack tonight! Darn it!!

Luv,
Noah

Yep, they are budgies. :)

The cats LOVE cages, especially Noah. When we had bunnies, he'd often be found sleeping inside the cage with the bunnies. Little cutie! :D

We have to keep the snacks..errr..birds in the "cat free zone" aka computer room otherwise I'm sure they would be quickly snarfed up! Too many little hunters and huntresses here to take the chance! I had a rescued budgie years ago, that was hung in the middle of the ceiling away from furniture cats could reach the cage from. The birdie was fine until I got home one day to find the cage on the floor, and no bird whatsoever. :( Searched high & low w/flashlight everywhere, but of course the cats weren't fessing up to a thing, nor were they watching under furniture or anywhere else intently. :( The culprit produced no evidence to the crime in the litterbox either. Poor little bird.:( Your pair of girls are pretty little things, and love the house inspectors!

Aww, how cute!!!!

You are going to have your hands full with all those kitties and those two tasty looking treats. We used to have zebra finches (when we only had Ripley) and boy oh boy did Ripley keep me on my toes with those guys around. I'd bring them out on the mantel during the day and although Ripley never got them I still have the deep cat claw scratches into the mantel where he'd trying jumping up. Believe it or not I had them for 8 years without an major incidents.

Day 2:

I haven't gotten even a whiff, let alone a taste of those delictable morsels. Poor me!

Here's a picture of me checking out the birdies...I think I appear a bit too eager because mommy told me that she is no longer considering an indoor cage stand for the birdies...whatever that means.

Awww Noah! Leave the birdies alone! They aren't food! :p

What do the birds think of the cats? My birds go CRAZY whenever a neighbor's cat comes to visit our backyard. I think they would get a heart attack if a cat was looking in their cage like that. :p

PCB, I don't think they knew what Noah was, if they even saw him at all. :) That'll be the closest he gets to my birdies.
