Last night we went with a couple friends for a raft ride down part of the Yukon River. The River is pretty amazing to look at any time from any place, but from on the water is even better! I've had a couple PM's about the amount of daylight we get up here. I thought these pics might help explain it better. The first ones of when we are getting ready and leaving are at about 9pm. The last ones are at about 11:30. The sunset one is shortly after midnight.

Continuing our trip down the Yukon River....

This is the site of Canyon City--the original town of Whitehorse. You can hike to it and there are some old foundations and other historical things along the bank.

Floating through Miles Canyon. I've taken 100 pictures off that bridge I bet. First time I've ever floated under it!

Schwatka Lake--created by the damming of the river, Whitehorse's water source and electicity generator! Also a very popular recreation area and the end of our float.

My hubby relaxing after rowing into shore.

Sunset in the Yukon--this is as dark as it gets and as far down as the sun goes. No flash needed on the camera. This was about 12:30am.

That area is absolutely beautiful!! You are indeed, one very lucky woman. You're living a life I would love to live. And, you need to have one huge post in dog general with lots and lots of pics of all your dogs(or a lot of them) instead of just teasing us with a few. They are so beautiful and show us a world we don't get to see often enough.
