Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I truly believe that animals have the absolute "BEST" hearts.....God wouldn't leave them out. They're in Heaven, waiting with our loved ones, for us to arrive! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I believe in reincarnation. I once had a cat who I swear had the sole of my best friend's cat who had died of cancer. They had the same behavior and habits. My cat did not like many people besides myself, but she loved my best friend. If people are reincarnated, I believe cats are too.

When our relationship was strong and full of love, they're becoming our Guardian Angels...

I agree with you Spencer, Scripture does mention animals in Heaven! And if you believe in the story of Noah's Arc, you would know the trouble God went through to keep animals around! My neighbor also volunteers at a nursing home where they bring Cats and Dogs from a no -kill organization to visit and to see the look on the faces of the senior citizens when the cats and dogs visit, you know those precious animals are gifts to us from God himself. I am sure he wants them around in Heaven.

A friend always says he wants to be reincarnated as one of my cats. But then I remind him that they are all neutered. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/rolleyes.gif

Here's a link to a Rainbow Bridge site that has some excellent articles to help you deal with the loss of a pet, and has a place to post a rememberance message: http://www.petloss.com

My 23 year old, Kittyna, just passed away last night and have been terribly depressed. She is my everything. Yet, I feel blessed that she died in my presence and in my arms. She was soo brave and strong filled with lots of courage as to hanging on to life by fighting with death, just to be with me a little longer. Needless to say, I will always be proud of her and am also blessed to have had her in my life and that of my families for so long.

Upon reading "Rainbow Bridge," it made me feel at ease to hope and have the opportunity to be reunited once again with her (when my time comes). Am happy she will once again be healthy, comfortable and happy.

Thank You for posting this up...

IMHO they join the Feline Wing of Our Awesome Angels Army along with their cousins , the larger Cats like Tigers , Lions and Panthers.
Our Awesome Angels Army also includes the people who were Guardians for theirPet Animals and those people who worked to help Animals in Zoos and in their natural habitat , and those who strived to jhelp the lost and Stray Animals.
They all tour the World , seeing the best restaurants, hotels, sights of great natural beauty and the largesr cities as well.
And when a beloved Animal becomes an Angel, they find a place where they and their Guradian can be together. And if an Animal has no Guardian of their own, they are adopted by a Family , as noone is friendless of homeless in Paradise.
Through the Grace and Blessings of Our All Loving Lord God Above , and His Son OurMost Merciful Jesus:love: we will all find our place in the sun with Our Families, Both Human and Animal.
One Fine Day:love:

In our house we say that "SHE WROTE THE BOOK" or "HE READ THE BOOK". The book was written by PATCHES. The little girl that stole my hart and I miss just as much today as when she passed 9 years ago. It seems that Mits and Lucky have read her instruction book on how to take care of me. Yes they have added a few pages but the basic instructions still stand. Out of the 19 in the house these two are the only ones that have "READ THE BOOK"
PICTURES: 1. Patch my little green eyed baby
2. Lucky my beautiful black Panther at 2 years
3. Mits (Mittens) my 8 year old guardian

I would swear that my Franklin is just Wally in a different fur coat.... :) Wally went to the RB in 2005 and Franklin was born in 2008 (in my bedroom!) and from the moment I saw him it was love.....:love::love:
Wally - played fetch with a twist tie
Franklin - ditto
Wally - big ol' fraidy cat
Franklin - ditto
Wally - hated to be picked up but loved to snuggle at bedtime
Franklin - ditto
Wally - one-person kitty (me)
Franklin - ditto
Sometimes there is a look on Franklin's face that seems like Wally is gazing out at me....

I feel the same way.
1. Patch would put me to bed - Mits job now
2. Patch would play baseball, I throw she bat back - Lucky plays fetch, gets in range then hits back.
3. Not feeling well Patch would sit on my chest so I would not get out of bed - Mits job, but Patch was 7 lb, Mits is 16.
4. Patch would sit on the arm of the chair to watch TV - Lucky is there now
5. Patch would greet at the door. both Mits and lucky are my greeters now.
6. Patch would escort me to the bathroom - Lucky's job now
7. Patch would make sure that I went to bed at 11:00 exactly - Mits has that duty now and I can't argue with his timing.
8. Patch would get mad if I went out more then once a day, again Mits has that job, but he only holds a grudge for a day or so Patch would be mad for a week.
9. Patch loved string beans - Lucky does too
10. Patch liked potato chips (plain) - Lucky loves BBQ
11. Patch hated cat treats - both Mits and Lucky are not crazy for them
12. Could melt me with one look - both Mits and Lucky have perfected the same look.

So they never leave us, they stay in our harts and we see in others thier touch.
