Hi everybody, so nice of you to all drop in like this! So lets start the tour out here on the street. As you can see, this is the front of the house. We live in an end unit of a 3 unit townhome building. That’s Terry’s car in the driveway.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p2bea5f45a89d700511fb9185218cae37/f83aa2bf.jpg

So lets get a little closer so you can get a better look at the entryway. That is my “new” flower garden out front. It used to look horrible but we’ve redone it and it now looks wonderful. I just wish the rose bushes were blooming for you.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p36a7457b56369ab9075cf12ca032d7b0/f83aa2ca.jpg

Now we’re in and this is the entryway. Oh look T & P want to join the tour. Hi Tubby, Hi Peanut.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p818eb65df671458dd370e8847b94c80c/f83aa2dc.jpg

We’ll start out by checking out the guest wing. The windows you see on the front of the house are for the guest bedroom. This is the hallway leading to there. The guest bathroom is on the right and the bedroom is straight ahead.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pb5eb1f7ce84db951e30058fa67be3ff6/f83aa2e1.jpg

This is looking straight ahead as you enter the bathroom.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p11ed06ea44d315ba4284e58b8361bc8f/f83aa2b8.jpg

And this is looking to the right.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p81da886b50a7918cb8dde867f66d4dd7/f83aa2d7.jpg

We then head into the guest bedroom itself. This is the only room in the house that was allowed to have some color on the walls and the furniture is from Terry’s Grandfather.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p4658d67dcbcc59f12a02d65d56f43e6a/f83aa2e7.jpg

This is an antique rocker that my mom re-caned, although you can’t see it because it’s covered by a quilt that my Grandmother made, and Sleepyhead, one of my dolls from when I was a little girl. She was obviously well-loved because she has many bare spots on her.

As we leave the guest bedroom, we’ll head into the “great room” or living room. My favorite part of the whole house (besides the backyard) is this room with the huge windows/doors. There are also 2 skylights and this room faces South, so there is an incredible amount of light that comes in!

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p1813c7b44cdf9ef0441218a97fc129ae/f83aa2b7.jpg

Here’s another view of the great room showing our hostess, her little house, and the dining room in the background.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p2367f8dbc594fae7acbc32008bc61dcf/f83aa2cf.jpg

And here’s Peanut again, showing off the dining room and the stairs to the loft. The furniture here is from Terry’s Grandmother and this is one of only two rooms that were allowed to have wall paper.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p01202228c7e350f61cfef803bdadda1b/f83aa2e4.jpg

Tubby went to bed so Peanut is happy to show you the walkway that separates the great room from the dining room and makes a good walkway to get from the front door to the kitchen without having to step on carpeting – whew! It’s hard enough keeping it clean with the two kitties much less having to worry about muddy shoes and such. The door straight ahead is the master bedroom and the doorway to the left of the hall tree goes to the guest wing.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p2620d7b6d692d69730295db0800aaaf6/f83aa2c8.jpg

From here we go directly into the kitchen. The door you see to the right is right about where Peanut was sitting in the previous pic. The door to the left leads to the utility room. This is the right side of the kitchen.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pfea8ae1c2df848941a45dd7f51e16889/f83aa2ee.jpg

This is the left of the kitchen.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pdee2a3e2bd4a7464364aaff869a76ff7/f83aa2b9.jpg

This is the utility room. The door leads to the garage, and there is also a door to the right that leads to the basement where the litter boxes and T & P’s food is.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p7d25b3a18224c98b3412b8031df2a280/f83aa2e5.jpg

And on the other end of the kitchen is the breakfast nook.

Which leads us to the backyard. This is looking to the right as you walk out the door.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pbe4edf406e7f3a2e8b85da012bd3ef80/f83aa2d3.jpg

To the left.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p417a147a4ec30af6a091c573b8f78e11/f83aa2f1.jpg

And to the extreme left to show my “nursery” where I coax almost dead plants back to life – and this is also where the catnip is (in the green pot).

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pe767dbb734e5b1dcecb7ed2ed5a55f65/f83aa2f6.jpg

And this is the view of the back of the house. I think this is a great pic of the house.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pd0a2f4b74cd8d0b498fc4ff96af3bad8/f83aa2c3.jpg

Now we head in and head up to the loft. This is what you see when you first go up. It’s a wreck, but it’s Terry’s office and there’s no cleaning it up – trust me, I’ve tried. You can also see Peanut in her little office. This is where she spends most of the day helping her daddy when Terry is working from home. This is to the right as you come up the stairs.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pee1e9e2da043c68013e61142c70fbaa3/f83aa2eb.jpg

This is to the left and where we spend most of our time. You can see Tubby’s purr pad on the floor by the railing. When I talk about him sitting in his “crow’s nest” this is where he is. He looks through the railing into the mirror on the opposite wall to see what’s going on in the parts downstairs that he can’t see – smart kitty.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p053b002f081d122be8885c6c49ead398/f83aa2c2.jpg

This is to the extreme left. You can see my measly little computer desk way to the left. One of the dormer windows holds our Corvette memorabilia and one holds our Harley memorabilia. I didn’t take individual pics of them because they are both a wreck.

Oops, forgot the master suite! Tubby was laying on the unmade bed this morning. I didn’t want to disturb him to make the bed, so this is an “old” pic of the bedroom. This is when we were installing the new wood blinds. Not a great pic, but you get the idea and you can see the intense help Terry is getting. You an also see Tubby’s “box” that my dad made for him to help him jump up to the bed.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid102/pff2769d1efae20ff7fc13d113f784fb2/f9b52fd3.jpg

And this is the “tie closet” or linen closet on the left and the walk-in closet on the right, and this leads to the master bath.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/pff96c68529c38ddd28b8e8cec566c12f/f83aa2b3.jpg

This is the master bath. To your left there is a deep soaking Jacuzzi tub where I spend lots and lots of time in winter.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p9a952818455ce1c9bb1c4474cf6e4867/f83aa2c6.jpg

There’s one last stop. Since our garage is more a toybox than a garage, here’s a pic of the toybox. Tubby’s second most favorite place in the whole wide world. This is a little bit old since the motorcycle is sold.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid122/p7ace78d0c6a014b63b17bac6e0353b1c/f839eeaf.jpg

That’s all folks. I hope you enjoyed the tour and I hope you come by for real some day soon!

Again, wowser to another house! So nice. All right, you guys have inspired me to decorate this bare townhouse! Time for pictures on my walls. Maybe I could purchase one a paycheck, assuming I can keep myself from quitting in a raging fit, in the near future. Anyways, I am in love with the Cherrywood cabinets in your kitchen. It is my favorite wood color, and I've been looking for a entertainment center in that color. Thanks Debbie, beautiful house.

Thank you for inviting me in! I think your home is just lovely! I wold die to have such wonderful open and bright windows! I love light! The columns are so pretty, and the arches! I like the bowed front railing on the loft. I like everything! Especially how open and spacious everything is!

Now, for color... hee hee I have an idea. Why not blackmail Terry into color? Tell him that if he doesn't clean up his office area and keep it clean then you're allowed to use whatever wonderful and strong color you like wherever you like! :D Bwahahahaha

Debbie, your home is BEAUTIFUL!!! I love it! That loft is sooo big, and I *love* your cherry wood cabinets in the kitchen. Is the loft the only room on the 2nd floor? I also love your living room! Its gorgeous.......so airy and *lighted*. Thanks for sharing your home with us. I was really looking forward to seeing Little Miss Peanut's house. :D

Debbie, thank you so much for the wonderful tour. Your house is beautiful. I am in love with your great room. Mark and I want to put an addition onto our house and make a TV room and those are the doors that I want to each side of a built in entertainment center. Your front garden is beautiful...as is the back yard.

Please also thank Tubby and Peanut as they were both wonderful hosts.

P.S. Can I come play in your toy box???? ;) ;) ;)

Lovely and elegant. Berfitting a lovely pair of kitties.

I carpet color does scare the be-jeezes out of me.
What about cleaning up messes?

When I get new carpet, I going to get vomit colored carpet. So it hides the mess better.

Well, dirt colored carpet is nice too...umm.

What an incredible home! I love it! I don't think I can pick a favorite part of the house. The whole place is great but I think my most favorite thing about it is the light. My house has so much shade that we don't get enough natural light and I hate that. I do love my trees though!
That was a fantastic tour and I can see that you have trained Peanut well in her hostess duties. She made me feel very welcome and made me feel right at home with a cute little furry bottom running around in front of me!http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/wink.gif
Thank you for the fantastic tour of your beautiful home. It was lots of fun and I hope someday these tours can become real!:) http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/smile.gif

Thanks so much everyone.

Now you all know what I mean, though, by all the white on white....and the white carpeting - ugh! Just this morning I've got two new puke stains to clean. I do like that the white gives it a bright airy feeling, but it's all just a little too much for my taste.

Terry is the original owner of the house, so he's the one that picked the cherrywood cabinets and he did good if I do say so myself. There are other homes in the complex I've been in and a lot of them have the white kitchens because that's what was really "in" in the early 90's when these were built. Thank goodness Terry didn't like white cabinets or I might just go mad with all the white!

Catnapper - great idea, I love it! Quite a few times we've gone looking for a nice desk for Terry and some file cabinets and such, but what it came down to is that he has his own way of organizing things. Doesn't matter if he cleaned it up, in a month or so it would look like this again because that's just how he works. I told him to let me clean it up and to have a dumpster on hand for when I did, but that idea went over like a lead balloon....just like it does when I make the same offer to my boss. ;)

Pops, yes the loft is all that's upstairs. This unit is consider a "ranch" style, so the master suite is on the first floor (very desirable option by the way). Terry could have had a bedroom put in upstairs instead of the family room that he has, but the guest bedroom is downstairs and he didn't feel he needed 3 bedrooms. There is a bathroom up there (completely forgot to take a pic of that) and if you look at his office, can you picture a closet with folding doors? That's what the floor plan called for. But no bedroom so no need for a closet and a great need for an office - walla! :D

Logan - no, no doggies. :( Terry said that when he built the place he had no intention of ever having any animals living in it. So I guess I was pretty special since he made accomodations for T & P. He does get quite upset when they puke on the carpeting but I've got puke cleaning up down to a science. ;)

Which brings me to Rose - yes! Puke or dirt colored carpeting! I want some and I want it now!!! :D

As I mentioned, Terry's the one that picked everything out while the house was being built. Of course he had help from his ex-wife, but overall I think he did a fantastic job. There are certain criteria that I require in a home (lots of light, facing south, etc.) and he seemed to have all the same criteria. It really is a beautiful house and I love the backyard and the privacy. Our backyard looks out to a fence that separates us from a light industrial park. Others in the complex look out into each others backyards and living rooms, so they almost MUST have some sort of window treatment on the big windows - I would hate that.

And one last thing, Catlover - you reminded me that I forgot to post a pic of our home away from home. The one toy that doesn't fit in the toybox.

Hi Peanut! Hi Tubby! Lovely home you two help keep.

White on white? I shudder to think how long it would take to make it look another colour in my house..he he he. I wonder if that is why I naturally choose dark, muted tones? :D

Wowza is right! What a fantastic home and all brick with that beautiful driveway. I love, love, love the layout! My favorite part though has to be your yard and the view to it from the house. Simply amazingly beautiful and like you said, private. They don't have a drooling *smilie* or otherwise I would have used it here.

Thanks for inviting us in to your home, Debbie.

It's just gorgeous! Well, to get a change from all the white on white, you might adopt several black cats! I'll bet then hubby might go for a change in decor! I find that it's multicolored furniture and carpets that hide the hair and trailed litter the best!
Thank you!

Thank you Debbie. When I was there I didn't dare to ask for a tour- and now I get it.

I think your beautifully landscaped back garden cannot be fully appreciated from the pictures but I am full of admiration about all that white- no cat puke spots anywhere!!!!

On that landing in the first floor, you could have seen Terry and Siegmar lying flat on their bellies to make sure, Miz Peanut sent them a smile. Don was close to joining them- and then I would have taken a picture:D

Debbie! I'm in love with your home! I love the open areas, the WHITE, the windows and all the natural light. I'm utterly jealous of your jacuzzi tub as well....oh how I want one of those.

Peanut is a little doll! I love her special little house. How totally cute that she likes it too. :)

Those runners...are those the same ones your little fuzzies like to mess up at night? Seeing them reminded me of that thread a long time ago.

Thanks so much for a wonderful tour into your home. :)
