A blind guy, his guide dog and a man who had been drinking hop onto a golf cart . . .

Sure, it sounds like the first line of a joke.

But Peachtree City police aren't laughing.

They say the blind man, Samuel McClain, drove the golf cart Saturday along two miles of winding paths through Peachtree City before crashing into a parked car.

Along the way, Michael Johnston gave the driver directions, after having drunk six or seven beers and "admittedly under the influence of alcoholic beverage," police said.

Also riding on the golf cart, sober and clear-eyed, was McClain's golden retriever guide dog.

Nobody was hurt, but McClain, 35, of Stockbridge, and Johnston, 47, of Peachtree City, were charged with reckless conduct "due to the blatant disregard for public safety," police said.

You're right with the subject, they SHOULD have just let the dog drive...maybe they should have let the dog plan thier activities for the day too!

Everyone knows that dogs would rather run after balls than hit them with clubs!;)

The reason the dog didn't drive is that he didn't have his license with him.
