Best suggestion is to go to www.rabbit.org and read up on diet, health and behavior. The House Rabit Society are the premier experts in having rabbits as house pets and the have topics on just about any topic you could think of. It is a free site.

Rabbits are wonderful pets but are delicate and their diet is of critical importance. Also a rabbit-specialist vet is absolutely a necessaity as most dog & cat vets think they know about rabbits but screw up their care, often with dire consequences. Spay/neutering will dramatically alter a rabbits behavior in a very, very good way when the bun hits about 16 weeks of age. Make sure the vet uses only isofluorine as the anesthesic.

Good luck!

What kind of rabbit? What is his or her name? How old is s/he? What do you need to know? Where will the bunny live - hutch or home? Did you know rabbits are litterbox trainable?

Well I have a rabbit and they are awesome. I don't mean to be mean but you should have found out about rabbits before you brought one home. Alot depends on the breed and size of your rabbit. I have a dwarf rabbit. If the rabbit is under a year you should give them pellets, no extras added and alfalfa. When they are over a year gradually take away the alfalfa and introduce timothy hay. Also cut down on the pellets and start giving it rommaine lettuce. Don't give it regular lettuce because it has no nutritional value. The amount you feed depends on the size on the rabbit. Good luck! You will love rabbits!!!:)
Go to rabbit.org. It is very informational!

Hi. I have a rabbit so I think I can help you. You have to get a water bottle and change the water twice a day, and do that with the food too. Bunnies need lots of love and attention. Take your bunny out of his/her cage to make sure it gets it can run around and have fun. In the summer my rabbit is outside in it's cage so it can see more things and he can get more action. But when it gets cold we bring him in the garage. Talk to your bunny, pet him, and show that you love him. I'm sure if you follow some of this advice he will love you back. Oh by the way, make sure youi clean out his cage once a week, and it might help you to get a book on more information on rabbits. Good luck!!! Make sure you have a discipline plan if he gets in trouble, and show him the no-no places. Don't be too strict and give him a treat for good.

I'm thinking of getting a netherland dwarf bunny, I would like to only get a single bunny preferably female. Will they be okay being the only one, or is it better to keep two together? I've read a lil about their diet, care, and maintenance stuff, but I can't find very much on behavioral stuff 'bout them. Help appreciated, didn't want to start a new thread.lol.
