Well, the only association I have with the number 57 is the steak sauce, so I guess its time to open up the bar and have an old time Bar-B-Que. As far as I'm concerned, the official beverage of any bar-b-que is BEER.

I'll tap the keg and start serving (you are of course allowed to order something else if you wish). Can someone tend the grill and take orders?

Ice Cold, Bud Light, please!!!! :)

I can try to help with the grill. Even though I live in the south, I prefer beef ribs, any day!!!! :)

I brought cole slaw plus onions and pickles to go with the BBQ - oh and some homemade BBQ sauce - where is Richard?? He has not been around for several days.
Of course - country music on the jukebox - OK?

lolololol,
This was a trivia question I heard the other day....

What does the word Bar-be-que mean?

1) Charcoal

2) From beard to tail

3) long-handled fork to keep your hands cool..

Thanks Catland for opening the bar.

Logan,

Ice cold bud.....DONE!

I'll baste and flip.....:D

Deviled eggs coming up. Everyone seems to think theirs are the best but mine really are ;) Well, to me anyway. Ice cold beer please while I set up the horse shoe pit out back :D WooHoo, this week I really do have something to cheer about. Jenny's home from the hospital and her prognosis is good. Country music huh? Love it...

I love this bar
It's my kind of place
Just walkin' through the front door
Puts a big smile on my face
It ain't too far, come as you are
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this bar

I've seen short skirts, we got high-techs
Blue-collar boys and rednecks
And we got lovers, lots of lookers
And I've even seen dancing girls and hookers
And we like to drink our beer from a mason jar

Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this bar
Yes I do

a baby bud in a long neck?

OH! I played this on the jukebox a few days ago but how bout another spin?

This crime in the city streets
Always trouble in the middle east
How’d they let things get so out of hand
Just watchin’ the evening news
that would give anybody the blues
The more I know, I think the less I understand

Chorus:
Oh Why can’t we all just get a long (neck)
And make a toast to peace and harmony
Why, Why can’t we all just get a long (neck)
And see how good getting a long might be

I’d like buy the world around
In the honky tonk neutral ground
So we can see that on the inside we’re all the same
Pop a top and let the good times pour
Til we forget what we was fightin for
I’ll ask again can someone please explain

CHORUS

As different as we may be
We’re all one big family
Cuz if we just agree we’re gunna disagree

NOW - what IS the trivia answer???

yah! Go ahead with the Faith Hill now;)

Two ice cold brews!

Done!

Sirrah,

The trivia answer is "B"-

It means from 'beard to tail'-French pirates
used that term to describe pigs cooked over an open flame......it meant that everything from
beard to tail was good to eat!

Baby Bud with a long neck!

Hello mama, hello mama it's me
How you feeling mama?
Hm-hmm, that's alright
I've got something I want to talk to you about
If you don't mind
And I ain't mad, mama, no, no no no
Wait a minute, listen mama

Look what they done to my song, ma
Look what they done to my song, ma
The only thing I could do half right and now it's turning out all wrong, mama
Look what they done to my song
Now listen if you please

Wish I could find a good book, I'd like to live in the thing now
Wish I could find a good book, now, hey hey hey
If I could find a real good book, you know I,
I'd never have to come out and look
At what they done to my song

Look what they done to my brain, ma
Look what they done to my brain
Oh mama, it's a shame, you won't believe this, but it's true
They picked it like a chicken bone and I'm-ah, just about to go insane mama
Look what they done to my brain

Now girls, if you don't mind, I'd like to hear that some French

Ils ont change ma chanson, ma
(ooh, not bad)
Ils ont change ma chanson
(uh-huh. Let me see here {franglish gibberish})
Ils ont change ma chanson
(My French must be pretty bad, I better do this in English)

Look what they done to my song, ma
Look what they done to my song ma
Put it in a plastic bag and they turned the bag upside down ma
Look what they done to my song

(scat)
Maybe it's alright
Maybe it's OK, I don't know
But I tell ya
If my tears were money, I'd be a millionaire today
You know, the only thing I get to have right, now it's turning out all wrong, mama
You can't believe what they've done to my song ma, that I wrote myself
They put it in a plastic bag and they turned the bag upside down, mama

Lord, if I could find a good book,
I'd never have to come out and look at, uh
What they trying to do to my brain
It's a shame mama, you see they
They done pick it like a chicken bone
And I'm-ah just about to go insane
I'm insane, insane, mama
I'm going crazy, mama, that's what it is

Lord knows I don't care what they done to my song
No, I don't care about that, but see
The main thing, mama
What they trying to do to me.

You see, well they stole everything I had, mama
And they made a million with it, and you know that hurts
But oh, I'm gonna keep on working on the building,
Just like you taught me, mama
Whoah, yes I will, yes I will, yeah

Tray, David and Mario!

A guy got shot at yesterday evening , just down the road on the next corner. I didn't hear a thing though. I did see a fire engine turning up, they had driven the stolen car further up and tried to burn it. They hit the guy (another criminal, I believe) twice in the leg and once in his behind - a young woman who happened to pass by, was also hit in her hand. "Gimme land lots of land and the starry skies above,
but don't fence me in.........."

Here's one of my favs..

Out in Arizona
Where the bad men are,
And the only friend to guide you
Is an evening star,
The roughest, toughest man by far
Is Ragtime Cowboy Joe.
Got his name from singing
To the cows and sheep
Every night they say
He sings the herd to sleep
In a basso rich and deep,
Crooning soft and low.

How he sings,
Raggy music to his cattle
As he swings
Back and forward in his saddle
On his horse
(A pretty good horse),
Who is syncopated gaited,
And with such a funny meter
To the roar of his repeater.

Hi everyone. Its an absolutely beautiful day here in the rose city.

Gini - save a piece of that pie for me!

T&P - I'd say it looks like you managed to make yourself that pitcher of margaritas.

DJF - maybe I can find a beer like that one they had on the Drew Cary show, the beer with caffiene.

What a great BBQ everyone. Mario looks so cute eating those baby-back, baby-back, baby-back ribs.

mo-mo, one cherry iced tea and four catnip teas - done.

Randi - Yikes - how scary.

lb - I'd never try to fence you in.

State Song? I think ours is something really boring about pioneers and stuff like that. Although there was once a movement to try to get Louie, Loue adopted as the state song. or was that up north in the state of Washington?;)

Lord, what is Mario doing?! Hmmm, I wonder what he has been eating today...I noticed he has been sneaking out to the plum tree in the back yard, so I guess thats whats got him all excited. Or is it that pie and ice cream? Could be the ribs, or maybe he got a hold of what DJFyrewolf36 was drinking, the double iced mocha espresso, she had for her lunch. LOL, he probably sneaked over to her cubicle and helped drink it!!

How is everyone today? I think I'll just have a couple of beers, and we'll give Mario a couple, it might actually calm him down a little, at least long enough for me to get that diaper back on him!

LOL, he probably sneaked over to her cubicle and helped drink it!!

Congratulations, Logan! I'll take that drink, just make mine a beer.

I used to raise baby cockatiels years ago! I think everybody in the neigborhood had one. Ann still has one of them now, I think.
I used to put a bowl of warm water in the bottom of the cage while she was laying her eggs, so she could soak in it and help keep her from getting eggbound. It was sooo much fun, seeing those babies!

So heres to those sweet little hatchlings!

Actually, I've got a hankering for a trucker's breakfast. David? That's ok, slick. I have a white chocolate peanut butter cup around here somewhere. You need to take it easy after a bump like that. It won't be long before I need to think about lunch anyway! The cherry coke will hold me!

What is a trucker's breakfast? Eggs, bacon, toast?

I think of a Trucker's Breakfast as eggs (any style), bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and pancakes. Of course, I could never eat all that but I'm sure a long-haul trucker could. Lunch? It's only 8:40am here. Gee, I guess I'd better get dressed.....

Somehow Buccaneers in Tampa Bay make more sense than Pirates in Pittsburgh...I have some memories of Pittsburgh in the 1960s, seems like a lot of the buildings were coated with soot then. All that pillaging and looting and burning, I guess?

Fennel and spaghetti squash, excellent! Thanks, Slick!

davidpizzica
06-07-2004, 06:44 AM
Maybe a little, but most of that came from the steel mills. The steel mills are mostly gone now, and now Pittsburgh is one of the cleanest cities in the U.S. The Pirates still suck, though!
