Cat survives car roof-top journey

A cat has escaped injury despite clinging to the roof of a car travelling at 60mph for four miles.

Staff nurse Adria Bryan couldn't understand why other drivers flashed their lights at her as she sped to work in Rhyl, North Wales.

When she finally pulled over she was horrified to find her cat Joe on top of her Ford Escort., says The Sun.

She said: "I must have been doing 60. Joe clung on for dear life with his claws to the groove at the top of the rear door. It's unbelievable.

"I realised something was wrong when other people flashed their lights. I thought I may have left my handbag on the roof but I checked and it was on the seat next to me so I carried on.

"I even passed a police car with the cat on my roof but he didn't flash his lights at me.

"Finally one lad overtook me and I thought he was going to cut in front. Then he leaned across looking shocked - and pointed at my car roof."

A couple of days later the cat had another brush with death after it was attacked by a bull terrier. Joe suffered three cracked ribs and a punctured lung, but survived.

For Joe's next trick he's gonna set a house on fire by stepping on
the stove controls, survive a fourteen story fall and bite the finger off of a visitor!!!

OMG....I don't know if I'm more surprised that the cat clung to the roof for so long or that of his owner. Joe sure is one lucky cat...but how many of his 9 lives did he use??

Reminds me of when our Siamese, Cue Baby, went for a ride on the top of my mom's car back in 1967. Mom only drove a few blocks before onlookers alerted her. The roof of the car was vinyl, and Cue Baby was able to hook her claws into it. We've got lots of memories of that crazy girlcat. I miss her still!

Good Grief! Poor Joe must have been scared to death! I can't believe he managed to hang on doing those speeds and then attacked by a dog! Poor fellow is certainly having a very hard time of it!  http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/eek.gif
