Does anybody have a good chocolate chip cookie recipe? We try new recipes every time we make them because the other ones ALWAYS turn out crispy the next day.

I'm not asking for ones that are like sooooo soft, but you know, anything thats good and not TOO crunchy. Help would be greatly appreciated!!!:D

We always use the one on the back of the Tollhouse package. :)

If you bake them for less time, they'll turn out softer.

Do you use a baking stone or a cookie sheet? It may be that your oven runs hot too. Do you have an oven thermometer?

I have to admit I have not tried these ones yet, but they are low fat, so here ya go.
Makes about 30 cookies.

RECIPE
three quarters a cup of brown sugar

1 and half cups of self-raising flour

half a cup of plain flour

1/2 cup of chocolate chips

2 eggs lightly beaten

50 grms low fat spread or margerine melted

1/4 cup skim or low fat milk

METHOD
Preheat oven to 180 c
Line two trays with baking paper

Combine in a large bowl brown sugar with flours and choc chips.

in a small jug, combine eggs, spread and milk, add to dry ingredients and stir to combine.

place teaspoons of dough onto prepared tray, spread out slightly with 5cm separating each.
BAKE for 8--10 mins or until golden. cool on trays.
You will need to convert grms etc, but good luck hope these are nice, let me know if you do make them and how they were.cheers

I'll donate milk to the cause. Because chocolate chip cookies aren'
t good without it. I just go to the store and buy the ones from PIllsbury. Lazy me.

This is not a recipe but something my oldest daughter-in-love taught me and it is GREAT! Just tear up a few pieces from a slice of loaf bread to store with the cookies and they stay soft and chewy! You can even add a whole slice of torn up bread and overnight it will turn hard cookies back into soft fresh cookies! No kidding! I will never go without bread pieces again!!! Please try it!!:D

Could you give me the recipe, please? We use a cookie sheet. And when we bake, we always set the oven for about 15 degrees less than the recipe said because we have a Maytag Gemini and it does go hotter than other ovens. (supposedly lol)

Minkyboodle: I know, the dough is wonderful!:D

Thanks everyone else for the replies!

The recipie I use is on the Quaker Oatmeal box. It is for oatmeal cookies, and chocolate chips can be added.

This is the one I use for white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies (you can use milk chocolate and omit the nuts). They turn out like Mrs Fields's cookies and are great the next day if you warm them slightly in the microwave :D

Lightly grease a couple of baking trays.
Pre-heat oven to 190 C (375 F)

125g (4.5 oz) butter, softened slightly
125g (4.5 oz) brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
200g (7 oz) self-raising flour
pinch of salt
3/4 of a block of white chocolate, chopped roughly
handful of macadamia nuts, chopped roughly

Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.

Gradually add beaten egg, stirring well after each addition.

Add flour and salt to the bowl and mix well.

Stir in the chocolate and nuts.

Place heaped spoons onto baking trays - leave an inch or so between them as they spread a bit.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until just golden brown.

Eat the raw dough while cookies are baking.

Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Eat while warm, purrrrrrrr :)
