Hi everyone.:) I went over to my friends condo on Sunday and I got to meet her 3 furkids. Both my mom and her mom were out of town on mother's day so we decided to hang out together. She has 2 male cats named Smokey and Tigger and a female cat named Sabrina. Tigger and Sabrina are littermates and are 4 years old and she's had them since they were kittens. Smokey is about 3 years old and she's had him for 2 years.
SMOKEY'S STORY:
My friend Cat was coming home one day and a very friendly cat came up to her and followed her home. It was January and very cold outside and the cat was also very skinny. She already had 2 cats at the time so she decided to feed him outside and tried to find out if he had an owner.
Her neighbor feeds the neighborhood ferals and had been feeding this cat for the past 2 weeks along with the ferals. He kept hanging outside Cat's door and one day he decided to come in. He used the litterbox and fell asleep in her chair for about 30 minutes. She hated to have to put him outside again but had to for now. She warmed up a blanket and put it on her doorstep and told herself that if he was still there in the morning, then she was going to adopt him and take him to the vet for a check up.
Well he was there in the morning so she took him to the vet and found out that he was already neutered. He was also very thin and was only about 8-9lbs which was too thin because he's a large cat. She decided to name him Smokey. He may be a Maine Coon mix or a Norwegian Forest Cat mix because he has a double coat.
She later found out through her neighbor that a man had owned him and was starving him so he'd catch mice.:( He was also beating him.:( In the beginning he would cower whenever you'd try to pet him and he'd also try to bite you. Now he's a very happy contented cat. He's so outgoing that he's more like a dog than a cat.
The first thing he did was run up to me and lick my hand.:) All of her neighbors love him too even the men.:) Any way I have 12 pictures of her cats so now I'll show them to you. Enjoy!:D
