Quite a few of you were asking for an update of the kitties at the shelter. I spend a couple of hours with them yesterday. A couple of the kittens have been homed, but as usual the adult cats are not being as lucky:
Biscuit is still here:

and so is his sister Pixie:

Tilly's little grey kitten has gone from this:

I am finding it very difficult to keep going back there, knowing that cats are being PTS every week, and there's not a thing I can do about it!:(

Oh Julie, I appreciate the updates - but it IS sad. So you spent some time with Biscuit? Is he a sweetie? Does he still seem bewildered to be in a cage? Doe he play? Is he in with his sister?? I can't get over how much he looks like our PT Leroy, Pickles, Trevor and Abner - same nose splotches and all. Well, please give him some scritches for me and a hug if he will allow that.

Biscuit is an absolute snuggle-bug. He was extremely shy when he first came in, but we have been working wuth him quite a lot, and at least now he comes to the front of the cage when people come past, and doesn't hide at the back like he used to. He is in a large enclosure with access to an outside run, and shares a "bunk"with his sister Pixie (they were brought in together). He is great with her, but is VERY aggressive with other cats, which will further limit his homing prospects. I am praying that these two will be homed together.

Thanks Julie - I will also be praying for Biscuit and Pixie. He caught my eye and heart when you first posted his picture. Guess this can be a bad thing - now I know his name and more about him......I could NOT do the work you are doing!! It would tear me apart. Blessings to those of you who DO what I cannot! I will keep sewing blankets.

OMG! I am SPAZZING over that grey kitten with ALL THAT PINK!! Aweeeeee! To prescious! If we were close, I would have to come meet that baby! It is just adoreable! I love pink pads, noses and ears! Just grabs my heart in the softest spot.

Those others are beauitful.. I just don't understand HOW you can have one, love it , then turn into a kill shelter. I could not do it either, it has to rip your heart out!

:( I can understand how sad it must be to go there.
I send all my best thoughts for all the kitties, especially Biscuit and Pixie.
