What are some funny things your cats do?

We recently decided to plug in a second phone, because the only one we had was prtable.(incase the power shut off we wanted a phone plugged into phone jack so that it would work w/o power.) Well, evertime it rang, zezu would run to it and jump on it until it stopped. Usually when he knocked it off the hook. We gave up on it because we never got any calls. Everytime it rang, zezu would answer it but never say hello or hang it up when he was done.

I posted this under another thread, but it's too funny that I had to mention it again. My cat has a foot fetish. I don't know what it is about feet, but my Marius loves em! If there are shoes lying around on the floor, he'll lay on them, or (in the case of my husband's shoes) he'll rest his head inside them (what's that funky smell??). Marius doesn't like baths, but he loves it when me or my husband is in the shower. He'll jump up on the ledge of the bathtub between the liner and curtain and when we get out, he likes to jump in and lick the tub. Yuk!! I usually get him out of there when he does that. I can't imagine soap residue is too good for kitties. Anyway, fresh feet out of a shower are his favorite. When I get out, he'll practically run over and then "fall" onto my feet. It's so funny. He'll put his paws around my ankles and rub his head all over my feet. He likes to try and nibble them too, but mostly he just rubs all over them. He likes stocking feet too, but not as much as fresh feet from a shower!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif What is it with Marius and people feet?? http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/rolleyes.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/confused.gif

My cat Gonzo I think is a little wreird. He loves shiny things that he can grab onto. Anything from barrettes,pens,rings,etc... he will hide them away. So for months at a time I am missing things. Then one day I will find it in a corner in the basement, all of his stash. I don't think that he does anything to the stuff. He is just a junk collector. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

My mom had a cat, Murhpy, that had a job. He was the garbage man for the neighborhood. He roamed the block at night, picking up all the trash in the street. McDonald's cups, empty cigarette packs, sheets of newspaper, all of it ended up strewn all over the driveway, the patio, or even inside the cat door. Sometimes, after a rain, he brought home fast food cups still full of rainwater. If a kid dropped his homework on the way home, Murphy would find it that night and bring it home. One day he was really proud of himself when he found a windshield wiper! But he kept banging into the door - being only a cat, he didn't figure out that he would have to turn it longwise to get it through the cat door!

It sounds like Murphy fancied himself working for the Department of Sanitation!! While cleaning up the neighborhood he was bringing treasures home to you. How cute! Love the windshield wiper story! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif My cats use a cat flap to go to the basement where their litterboxes are. Andy in particular brings lots of things upstairs that must catch his eye. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Spencer...Trev can go through just fine but there is not a half inch to spare (or should I be talking metric http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif ). Sometimes he will stand at the basement door and meow if there are people close by so that we will open it for him. Otherwise through the flap he goes! Our last standard poodle, Whitney, was a riot. You could be standing in the basement and look up the steps and there would be her head and neck sticking through the flap, looking very much like a mounted deer head! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

We keep our washer and dryer in a large closet. The doors to the closet are the folding type.
My cat Scooter cannot bear to have this doors closed. He will open them up again and again. He could be in another part of the house, and he will hear the door being shut. He then will take off at top speed to open them up again.
I cannot imagine why he does this, but it is cute!

Cookie, my girl tux, is the same way about the pantry. She loves to jump onto the second shelf and just sit. When she hears me open the pantry door she runs into the kitchen to jump on her shelf. Sometimes she cries if I've just been to the store and stocked up and there's no room for her. Occasionally, too, she'll ask me to open the door for her so she can sit on her shelf. She's so funny!
