Montanna, an 11 year old Maine Coon Cross, wieghing in at a slim 17.5 lbs now http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif has had this strange habit since he was a baby.. he carries strings arround with him.. he has about 8 different strings, we call them his pets.. he takes them to his food dish and lays them in there to feed them, he carries them outside to take them for a walk I guess, and his new trick is to take to the litter box and lay it beside the box, while he goes, then takes it away with him.. like he trying to show it what to do.. we find strings everywhere, in the bed, bathtub chairs, we pick them up and put them in his string place.. he goes and gets them and starts all over.. his favorite string is his bright pink sunglass's string, because the platic end make a clicking noise when he drags it.. cats are too funny, and mine make me laugh every day http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

One of my cats, Maya, does the same with bottle tops. She has dozens and when she is fed up with one she just drops it in shoes, in her food bowl, in the bed (not very comfortable when she brings one in the middle of the night...) and just picks another one in her mouth. I even found one in the litter box.

My daughter's cat does the same thing with bottle caps. He plays with them and then drops them in shoes, his water bowl, the laundry basket, you name it! He prefers his bottle caps to store bought cat toys. We roll them along the floor to him and he chases them and brings them back to us to roll again!
