Before my friend's mom passed away there was a horse she was very interested in. After Sheila died, Mike decided he would buy the mare, despite her injured leg.
After buying the paint mare and a vet visit, it was discovered that she was pregnant. Her due date was May.
On Easter Sunday, Mike came home to find the mare dead in the pasture and a colt running around. The vet said it's likely she ruptured a blood vessel. :( He was clean and had a meal so she must of had a little strength left before she died.
The little guy doesn't have a name yet so they've been calling him Little Brother. He turned 2 weeks old this past Sunday and I got to visit him last Friday and got some pictures of him.
Little Brother eating out of his bottle (He had a blanket with him in the stall and it got wet and subsequently dyed part of his fur. That's the pink spot. LOL! Vet said it'll wear off or grow out)

He loved to rub his nose against my hand.

His head only reaches just below my chest and I'm 5'6".
