Rio and Me

My biggest dream ever is to own my own Island (not to big but not tiny) this island has to have a small cute cottage at the waters edge, a pier that trails off into the sea with a small boat attached, it has to have a small forest of a selection of different trees, a small orcard of apples/vegtables (so i can make my own cider, lol) a large area of grass and wild bush's etc and a area at the back of the island of rocks and caves, it has to have a hilly area of grass and wild bush's too.
On this island will be Me, Rio and my pack of dogs (which might be wild to the outside world but me,lol) in this pack will be 3 GSD's ( 1 Rich black and tan long coated male, 1 solid black male, and a 1 pretty sable girl), 1 Dogue de Bourdeux (?sp) male, 1 St Bernard girl, 2 Siberian Huskys (1 dark red like Nebo boy, lol, and 1 black and white girl), 1 staffy girl (black brindle), and 1 English Foxhound boy, and last but not least pom/chi/pap ? not desided yet, lol.
that equals 11 dogs and me,lol
all with luxcerius bed areas aloud to run free on my very own island, lol

This is my biggest dream (give or take a few things, lol) it may not happen but i like to think that one day i'll be able to afford anything i want without money worrys, this is what i want

So what is your dream? please share

My dream someday is to open a Schnauzer rescue. To help all of the schnauzers who don't have homes. And I want to own 5 mini schnauzers. 3 silver and black and 2 silver ones. :)

To open a reptile rescue for the types of reptiles that lots of people buy as cute little babies....that then become not so cute as they grow up. Iguanas, Red-Eared Sliders, Burmese pythons, reticulated pythons, etc...

I really would like to find someone 'for me'...He/she doesn't have to be drop-dead gorgeous, filthy rich, or perfectly built (that's a whole nother dream. :p ) -- Just love me for who I am, and I'd really like that he/she shared my interests. Now, I say he/she because I don't care what sex the person is, as long as i'm in love. I would like to have children of my own, and my prefrences are towards males. :p

I'd like to have some sort of business in photography -- what? I don't know. I'd also have some sort of dog rescue, not any certain type of dog.. but any dog in the need of being rescued. Not a huge organization either, just a small rescue.

My dream home is somewhere in the country... If only all of the dog parks and dog beaches here could be places somewhere in the country i'd be in heaven. It just isn't too appealing seeing a mcdonalds sign right next to pretty palm trees.

I'd love to own a full bred Pit Bull, or two -- A Retired racer Greyhound -- a Great Dane -- and a German Shepherd. All adopted or rescued. Not all at once, but atleast sometime in the future. More than likely I won't seek them out though, i'll just adopt whichever I fall in love with at the shelter.

My dream would be for Simba and Nala to live forever, but I know that's impossible. I don't ever want to have to leave them. Especially my Simba boy.

I have alot more to my dream... but most of it is impossible.
The things that I said already are possible, I think.

I really don't have any dreams..I'd like to find the perfect guy and be successful. I'd love to take in animals who can't find homes and care for them until they find a good home. Maybe an adoption center or a dog/horse breeding place...hm, I guess I have dreams afterall lol

I have a lot of different dreams...one is to live in the country to just get away from all the media junk, technology and pollution. To just be with nature. You know, the mountains, a river, all kinds of wildlife. It's beautiful.

Another of my dreams is to be successful and be happily married and have a family (which would of course, involve many animals). I'd also love to travel to Australia. It looks so beautiful to me. :)

To graduate from college, get a career I love, get married, have a family, and grow old with my husband and furkids. :) Pretty typical, but perfect in my mind.

I don't really have too many. I try to live in the moment as much as I can. It frightens me to think too far ahead. I would love to be able to help as many unwanted/homeless special needs cats that I could and give them much love for the rest of there life. :)

I as just telling my brother in law about my "Dream" the other night, and he thinks I should go for it!

I want to have a "dog mall" It would include a vet with low cost spay/neuter and vaccinations, a rescue shetler, a food store, a bakery, an art store (with Amy as our featured artist?) a groomer, a dayschool, training, etc., etc., etc. Behind the mall, would be a huge dog park with a pond. The resuce dog would have access to it at times to help socailize them and so they would not be kenneled all the time.

Anyone want to sponser me to buy about 10 or 15 acres? :D

That's very similar to my dream! Except I want it for all small animals. I want to open a pet supply store, with an adoption center, butcher/grocer (for BARF & other diets), vet, groomer, trainers. And outdoor area for playing, training, competitions. All kinds of things. And I hope to do this before I am 30;) I'm just looking for the right location.

The dog mall idea sounds great! When I win the lotto, I'll be sure to buy the land for you. (oh..dream on Ashley) :p

I want to be able to make a living by training dogs. I want to teach my own classes, have a doggy daycare during the day and help train the more difficult shelter dogs. I also want to run a small rescue on the side..possibly a Sheltie or herding dog rescue. If I can't run a rescue, I'd like to at least actively foster dogs.

To be self employed, financially stable, with a home and acreage, the ability to travel freely, and, facilities to house animals. I'd like to have my own shop where I could sell pet supplies, help rescues and shelters adopt out pets, and, incorporate my photography into it somewhere. I'd love to have multiple cats, dogs, and, horses. A home on the beach, one in the city, one in the country. And, the ability to help people, family and friends especially. I'd love to be able to make it so my mother doesn't have to work. :)

I can't even begin to mention my dreams, for fear of feing put into a rubber room with a staight jacket, rocking in the corner.

Oh, you mean dreams and aspirations?? Well, THAT'S another story!!!

I have a dream of being financially stable, lving on my own island with a huge house, full of windows, facing a blue ocean.

On the same island, a very large cottage (a kitty cottage, actually) also full of windows, sort of a kitty haven. Inside will be TONS of rooms with more windows for all the unwanted and abandoned, as well as feral cats and kittens. The rooms will have furniture to scratch, loft walkways up high, tons of cat trees, and individual catnip dispensers. The rooms will also have skylights for the sun to shine in.

There will be many cats in every room, to live out their final years in peace and harmony.

I dream of owning my own business, preferably themed cottages, by some beautiful lake district in NZ, making them very unique, so that everyone wants to stay in them, and not outrageously priced, so the average person can afford them for a holiday.

Now for the over the top dream, is to own a castle on a hill with the moat and all, overlooking the ocean.

One alway's dreams of winning the lotto, a million or two would not go a miss, I can always dream of all the lovely kitties I can then own, with their own special huge outdoor area, all screened off , so no other cats can get in or out, with the most wonderful play area you can imagine.:)

Don't ya just love them dreams..!!!:D

My dream is that my hubby will cancel the Porsche he has ordered, so we can use the money for me to go back to Varsity full-time in September and get my MBA.

I would also like to be able to contribute more towards our shelter, and animal welfare in general - which I would hopefully be able to do as I would get a better-paid job after I have my MBA.

I also dream about fitting back into my wedding dress before my next wedding anniversary in November - which means losing 15KG!!!!!!!

*Sigh* Where to begin ;)

First off would be to settle down with my soul mate (She is out there somewhere) and to adopt/rescue needy dogs/ Border Collies.

And to help out Border Collie Rescue Australia, get back up and running as not much has been happening with them.

Buy my own little Ford Escort panel van and restore it to its former beauty, Paint it a pretty matalic megenta colour, have it lowered, Faux Fur lined interior. *Ahhhh keep on dreamin* ;) :D

Live in the country with plenty of room for Clover and Elvis to run, play and swim. and have room so i can have another Border Collie.

And last but by no means least, buy a building for our dog club (Or just us Flyballers) so we can train in the middle of winter and in the summer when it is to hot. Also have day care, Heated Phsysio pool available. etc :D *Another i wish*

There is world peace, equal rights etc :( *I dont see that happening any time soon*

My dream is to have a baby (a human one). I love all my fur kids and they are very much my babies, but my heart longs for a human baby. That is my number 1 dream.

My complete dream is to have a house on 10 acres. 7 of those acres would be undeveloped. On the other 3 would sit my house, a barn and a bird house and a reptile house. I would be a stay at home mom, and take care of our 3 kids and our animals. I want to have a bird, reptile, and small animal rescue.

Truthfully? To have a world that doesn't discriminate for weight. I'm heavy and I hate that people think less of me for it (but thats a whole other thread) I want people to see that you are the same person, thick or thin. Its my biggest issue in my life... and know what? I'm far healthier than a lot of skinny people!

dukedogsmom
04-25-2004, 11:31 AM
Me too, catnapper! And if you were/are thin, how would you know if the opposite sex liked you for you or because of how you looked. A lot of men are very shallow. I've learned that the hard way. I like hiding behind the beauty of my dog, because he's accepted a lot more than I am, at times. Maybe we should start another thread?

catnapper
04-25-2004, 12:44 PM
LOL! I used to be thin. In fact, this weekend I finally gave in and threw out everything but one pair of jeans from my skinniest days.

I used to date a guy I call the "food Natzi" who counted my calories with every bite. I was the utmost skinniest with him, but I left his house and stopped off at Dunkin Donuts every night and ate 6 donuts on the ride home!!!! My weight was more of an issue to him than me.

Maybe even riding school.. and of course I wanna pack of siberian huskies (and some merle aussies)... I'm not sure what colors I'd love to have those sibes, red&white and black&white would be great :D

AMEN TO THAT!!! I am also "full figured". I am tired of emphasis being put on being thin. I am a great person, full of life, who is happy in my body. Being thin will not change me. If people don't like me for WHO I am, then the hell with them!!

I once was involved with a guy who told me, "I'll buy you an engagement ring if you lose weight."

That was the last of him!!!

To have a world that doesn't discriminate for weight

Can I change that dream, to a world where "larger framed woman" are in style. :D ;)

My dream is to have a log cabin, with lots of windows looking out onto the mountains, and a river below me. Lots of land, for my zoo, husband by my side and friends, that I can count on, through bad times as well as good times. All my bills paid off, of course. And the time to visit the world. Also if I can, I'd like to have a white tiger as a pet, but I guess thats asking for to much.

But if nothing else, just to be happy.

Oh, Catnapper, I am with ya on this one. I wish people would judge us for who we are and not how we look. I can remember walking around the Ohio State campus with my son who was maybe 10 years old. We were there for one of his big swimming events. Anyway..we were walking back to our car and of course there was a group of college boys across the street and they made mooing noises and nasty remarks the whole way. My son held on to my hand and said he wished he was big enough to go beat them up. I told him no good would come from that. When I finally got to my car and we started down the road I burst into tears. Brandon patted me on the arm and said to not worry about it that they were just stupid people. Smart little boy he was. I'm use to it and I'm aware that I have put myself in that position, but for them to do that when my little boy was with me just humiliated me even more. Hmmm...I think you are right...this should be in another thread.

well my "real" dream (hopefully this will happen) is to become a vet and move out to the country somewhere where i can have my horses and rescued great danes on my huge farm, and be one of those vets who really knows all her patients and costomers. you know, like in the small town where everyone knows each other. that would be so coolz:D
My -oh-wouldn't-it-be-cool-if-this-happened-but-i-know-it-never-will dream is to be abandoned on a island somewhere all be myself, like the swiss family robinson or robinson crusoe. i always thought that would be so cool

TO GET A YELLOW LAB! (AND THEN A HORSE!)

Future-wise:To be happily married to the man of my dreams and live on a small farm either in western Wisconsin, Kentucky, Missouri, or Tennessee, and have a couple of horses, mules, goats, couple of rats, and Labrador Retrievers (maybe a Boxer and Dane too!). Then slowly open up an equine rescue if I had the time, money, and space.

Simple and do-able! :)
