How weird,
I watched "Dances with Wolves" AGAIN over the weekend, and went searching for information on the Sioux tribe

Sioux tribe Link (http://www.sioux.org/)

And some info on language

Well, I don't have much information. My grandfather was Cherokee. My mom grew up on a Navajo reservation, which according to her wasn't a good thing. My grandfather is now deceased. I wish that I could remember his stories more. My grandmother is a hag, so I won't get any good stories out of her. Anyways, here are a few family pics...

An aunt (I believe great great Aunt to me...)

I have Choctaw in me from my mother's side.

All I know is that one of my Great Great *not sure how many total* Grandfather came over from Ireland and married a Choctaw. :)

I wish I knew how they met and more about them.

You all are welcome.:) It's a site that's written & maintained
by a Native American. It gives the real history that was never
covered in our ( USA) history books.

I enjoy the language instruction & philosophy of the Native
people.:)

I'm part Micmac, a tribe that originally covered much of Maine and Quebec, and into northern NH as well, I believe. My French-Canadian great-great grandfather married a Micmac (daughter of the tribal chief). Not terribly uncommon an occurance, and it just adds to the mix of what makes me me! Dad's hair was coal black 'til it started turning silver, sort of the last physical evidence of the native blood in my gene pool.

I've always been fascinated by how Native Americans are so respectful to the animals, especially WOLVES. :D

I also have great admiration for the Native Americans' respect for nature and all animals.
Once I read about the myth of Creation from some tribe in California (I wish I could find the book) It says that as God was walking about creating all animals, a dog was already with him, as a faithful companion from the very beginning.:)
Also, did you know that Navajos were employed during World War II to send encrypted messages in their native language so that could only be translated by other Navajo speaking folks? No enemy could read the messages. One more way Native Americans have contributed to this country.
