A local artist makes sand sculptures at the local park at Easter for the last couple of years. Here are some pictures of this year's.

The rest of the pictures are here. (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287191049)

An author of Christian books heard of what he was doing and as used Findlay and his work as the basis of a book she wrote - Old Rugged Cross by Catherine Ritch Guess. This is the first book in a series of 3 and all will have something to do with Roger Powell's sand sculptures. His artwork can be seen here. (http://www.rogerpowellart.com)
There is some information here about the sculpture and the author here. (http://www.findlayliving.com/catherineguess.shtml)

It was really awesome to see what he has done. I wish I was that talented!

Yes, Richard it is a public park. And I suppose that someone could complain about it being done there. Hopefully we are a small enough town that no one will.

Yes, Roger is Nathan's dad. Remember he went on the youth trip to Cincy with the youth group and us. And yes he is very talented. He does landscaping too and has designed some really neat water garden 'backyards".
