Sorry for posting so many pics - these kitties are just so gorgeous I HAD to share!!!

This guy has one blue eye and one green one:

Haven't been able to get near this one yet - he/she hides in the litterbox whenever anyone comes in to the cattery.

The guy just makes my heart break. He is a gentle ginger boy, and was brought in because his "owners" don't want him any more. He is totally bewildered to find himself shut in a cage after being in a home. I am trying hard to get him to be a bit more lively - he would make a fantastic pet for someone looking for an adult cat.

This is Luke. His owner had to go overseas for an extended period for medical treatment, and the owner's family refused to keep the cat GRRR:

This little family portrait is so cute! Mommy is a bit fiesty, so we are having difficulty getting the kittens out to handle them!

This one was brought in by her owners when they found out she was pregnant:

She only had one kitten, who is already reserved:

Just for Barbara - can I send these two over to you??

Oh, poor baby, this one really looks scared:

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid112/p178586058bbb76a1562a1c77599f7c00/f90bb97f.jpg

All these precious fur kids, if there would only be more people who are willing to adopt such a little creature!

Sometimes I almost feel guilty when I'm looking at mine, knowing they have a good home full of love and everything they need, and then thinking about these millions of cats who live in shelters or even worse places!!! :(

What great pictures of some adorable babies!! Your shelter looks so nice! The cats seem to have large spaces which is wonderful. My shelter is so small and packed so tight. The kitties are in much smaller cages. It's so sad to seem them like that but wonderful that someone is at least trying to help them I guess.
I love the pictures of your shelter kitties and I think it's wonderful what you will be doing for them! You will have to share some of your photo's and stories.
We are saying prayers for all the homeless babies all over the world!

This one grabs my heart! This is Pickles, Abner, Leroy....and he looks so so confused and sad. I will be praying especially for this boy to be taken to a new home VERY soon. Will you PLEASE keep us updated??

On a happier note - the litter with the big boy is such a hoot:D Isn't it great how some of the mamma's will just welcome a stranger this way??

Gee, as much as I LOVE PT, it sure is aggravating my mood swings!!

You knew I would be looking!!!!!!

I called Siegmar just to show him how the cats look I talk all the time about:D

He said: "Very cute" in a voice that meant: " No more talks about more cats ..." I will have to show him more pics.

I feel so sorry for Luke. What a rotten family his owner has.

I'd love to have that momma with one kitten that was dumped by her family for being pregnant. She is gorgeous.

Thanks for sharing their stories and pictures.

I am still catching up on what I missed while I was gone and I found this one on shelter kitties. Any updates on these babies?

Just imagine... if we woke up one day and no longer had a home. We were thrown into a cage where we had to live and we didn't understand why! Where are all my loved ones? Where is my favorite chair? Where is my plate and glass that I used every day?
Where is my bed? I want my MOMMIE!

(But we are the ones who would never do that! The ones who actually do that would never come to a place like this and read all these stories)

I hate all these poor excuses for giving up these angels that you have. Especially Luke. My two rescues had rotten excuses when they were given up. Nikki was given up because her owner got pregnant and said quoe " It's off to a new project " unquote. Your kitties are adorable and I wish I could adopt ALL OF THEM!

It just breaks my heart to see these precious furbabies stuck in cages for stupid idiotic reasons.
This one really tears at my heartstrings:

Poor little thing is probably wondering what he/she did wrong.
I hope and pray that they all find good loving forever homes.

The momma cat just tugs at my heart. What a sweet face! There's something in her face that reminds me of my RB Goldie. The eyes, the sweetness. I hope someone adopts her very soon. She's gorgeous!

I visited our sorry excuse for a shelter twice last week. It literally tore me to pieces. :( As soon as I walked into the cat room, they all just started screaming for me to come and set them free..... it just broke my heart. It's funny what thoughts go through your mind ..... I even had visions of "accidentally" opening their cages and setting them all free! Our "shelter" ... "humane" society is HIGH KILL!!!!! :( :(

And they have the nerve to call pitiful place a "humane" society???:o :(

:( :( :(

There is a story somewhere on the internet, told by a dog who was given to the shelter when his family got a new baby. Because the dog was old and unadoptable, he's been put to sleep. It's a heartbreaking story and it made me cry bitter tears, and the sadest thing is that his happens so many times, every day.

I wonder why people are doing this to animals! Just learned that our neighbors once had a little dog. They wanted to have him because he was cute as a pup. Later, they decided he was too much work for them, so they brought him to the shelter. Now they have a new dog btw, and I wonder for how long he will stay. People like this really make me mad!

I HATE pet owners that treat an aminal like a used kleenex. When I was looking another kitty, I wanted an older kitty that someone wuuld give away becase he or she "got a little old"1

It is just a shame that cats who have given MANY good years of companionship, end up in shelters or at a vets office to be PTS. I have been known to adopt those, just so they can live out their lives as they should and I will do it again. It is not their fault a owner got sick, was moving, or died. My Mom's kitty is still alive and well, 5 years after Mama died. As long as we have her, we still have a piece of Mama and it will be a totally SAD day when we loose her baby!

I gave Nikki and Daisy a chance to live a normal cat life and NOT spend it in a shelter or foster care. If my space wasn't limited, I'd do it again.

I missed this thread the first time around. All of these cats look so scared. I sure hope that they'll all find loving forever homes.

All of my cats are rescues too. Storm was abandoned by his owner because he didn't want him any more.:( People like this shouldn't be allowed to adopt animals. They need to realize that it's a life long commitment.

I saw one poor kitty and the reason she was givwen up. quote " she missed the litter box once " That made me sick. UGH

They are all so special, and to be honest I am finding it very hard to NOT get emotionally involved. It is a high-kill shelter (no choice as we have limited space and NO government funding).

The worst thing is getting to know a litter, and then going back in and the litter having been "downsized"to 2 or 3 out of 6 or 7. I actually avoid taking pictures of the litters of kittens now, as I don't want constant reminders of all the ones who have been put to sleep.

I HATE going there, as I would love to bring them all home, but I also HATE not being there, because then I know they are on their own.

I have just go back from Dubai, so I will go down to the shelter tomorrow, and give you all an update then.

Oh no, this is so hard!! :( To be honest, I don't know if I could do that, going there and knowing that so many of them will be PTS because there are no homes for them! Like you, I would want to take them all home but know it's impossible! It's wonderful of you to go there and help!

Kirsten It would be very rough for me to go in there and look at their faces knowing that most of them would probably be PTS.
