I am looking for info to design a simple web-site

I know ZERO HTML (although maybe I can get my son to help a bit)

Are there any sites that offer a "template" or somewhere that will host a simple home page?.

(I have seen people have nice home pages on places like Geocities but I am not sure how this works)

I would really like to design a web site dedicated to Dilmun Cats. (There are NO WEB SITES for Dilmuns on the internet, and very little information).

What I would like is:
- something that is easy to design and update

- only a few pages, consisting of:
pictures
history and breed characteristics
success stories - adoptions etc from our shelter
a guest book for comments
links to our local shelter, and other relevant sites
a counter to see how many hits I get

I am hoping to design the "bare bones"of it, and then present it to Hanna, who runs the Bahrain Cat Society, and get an official endorsement from them.

PLEASE help me to get my Dilmun babies on the WEB

(Funny thing - when you Google for +Bahrain +Dilmun +Cat the 6th link is to Ally's CAT OF THE DAY page here on Pet Talk:D :D :D :D

I do know Geocities has a handy little web builder tool that is very easy to use. Its a quick download. I would try that out!

Here's an easy html tutorial, if you follow the instructions step by step, you'll have a basic page within an hour. :)

Good luck!

I like Dreamweaver, it is nice & easy to use.

If I can make a website with Dreamweaver, then anyone can :)

Funky Chickens (http://www.funky-chickens.com) is a great place to learn HTML. That's where I started as well as some of my other webdesigning buddies.

Fateback (http://fateback.com) offers free webhosting. From what I've heard, they're pretty good but I've been having troubles signing up with them. I started out on Angelfire (http://angelfire.com). I prefer angelfire over geocities but angelfire's ads are SO annoying. (I do have a code to remove them though.. :p).
