To Willy's people: We had an all-black (with white markings) cat named Willy between the years 1972-1987. His story was so similar to your own. Our Willy would come out of his usually mild-mannered state into attack-cat mode if his territory was threatened. We too in his later years had hassock steps piled in front of any perch he needed to reach. You've renewed our memories through sharing your experiences. Our thanks for every bit of that wonderful and costly care your own Willy is receiving -- costly in the sense of the time-consuming patience required also. Willy and your other cats are very very fortunate.

To Willy's 'parents':

Your story reminded me so much of our own cat's battle with diabetes. By the time he was diagnosed, his hind leg muscles were quite emaciated and he was having trouble walking (especially up stairs). That was a year ago. Today, his strength has totally returned and is a 'good as new'. Just wanted to let you know that there is every reason to hope for a full recovery.
