Last weekend we took the motorhome to Decatur, IN to get some cabinets installed. I just love them! To the right of the table, the top "drawer" pulls down and there's a sliding shelf there for my laptop. And below that there is a shelf that also rolls out for my printer - which I didn't have along to demonstrate. There is an outlet and phone jack right underneath the table so I can plug everything in. Then, as you can see in the AFTER pic, there is plenty of other space for storing all the computer related stuff like paper, card readers, zip drivers, etc. I figure there might even be a tiny little bitty space left over for something Terry might want. ;) :D So without further ado, here's the BEFORE pic.

And Terry testing it out later that evening.

Aaaaannndddd, as I said, this place was waaaay out in the country, so we had lots of company with Molly and her puppy, and two different kitties! This puppy was always moving sooo much that I couldn't get a decent pic at first, so I took a video, so here that is, and there's lots more pics in the following posts. Oh, and you can hear Terry talking to them and the kitty meowing. :D

And here are the pics of mostly Molly and her puppy in no particular order.

I thought this one was cute the way the puppy was standing.

Terry was trying to check the air pressure in the tires and he had a lot of help getting the pressure gauge out.

Puppy decided to use my fingers for a chew toy!
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid109/pe45309da01f236b6db291070df265e4e/f92aed75.jpg

Mom says "Hey, I want some of those treats too!" Even though I had no treats, just my fingers. ;)

The shy kitty came out, and the puppy starting chewing on it and dragging it around and the cat just took it! Yes, it had claws and could have told the puppy where to go in a second, but.... I chased the puppy away so the kitty go go back to its hiding spot - poor kitty.

So the puppy wanted to play and since the kitty was gone, the next best thing was Terry's shirt!

Then decided the towel we had on the step (it was really wet and muddy) would be more fun.

And finally for the unshy kitty, you'll have to go to the next post.

This kitty was sooo unshy, just came right up to us and started meowing for attention.

And finally, while we were getting ready to leave in the morning, the kitty came out to say goodbye.

That's all! Hope you enjoy them. They really brightened up our stay, which was pretty bright to begin with - what, with my new cabinets and all. :D

That is exactly what I'd love to do one day! How much time do you all spend traveling in it? Been any really great places?
The cabinets are fantastic. It's unbelievable how luxurious motorhomes are these days. My grandparents have one called BlueBird. It's as nice as their house, I swear!

ps: does that kitty think he's a rooster!?

That video was great! THat puppy reminds me of the way Finn is when he meets new people! Yeah, I'd like to hear about where you've been in your motorhome! Man, that's what I'd love to do! Awesome, thanks for sharing!

Yes, except the meows aren't quite as loud and abonoxious as a rooster's crow. ;) :D

As for the motorhome, we don't spend near enough time in it due to this awful thing we call W-O-R-K. Unfortunately though, the dreaded W-O-R-K pays for the motorhome, so whaddyagonnado? ;) We go for at least 3 full weeks a year - the extent of my vacation, and then "steal" days here and there to make long weekends around holidays, like 4th of July we'll make a 4 or even 5 day weekend depending on how the days fall. Other than that, we go as many weekends as possible during the summer and fall.

We've been to Myrtle Beach, SC, the Keys in FL, a really nice state park that the name is eluding me but it's near Orlando, FL, Big Bend National Park in TX, another state park in New Mexico that was only 3 miles from the border and was named after some Mexican renegade guy, beautiful McDowell County Park near Phoenix, AZ, the Nicolet National Forest in Northern WI where my brother owns some property, all the IL state parks within 2 hours drive of Chicago except the one that's North and on the lake - they're always booked up, Bong Recreation area in WI, the Amana Colonies in Iowa, the Dog Park in Findley OH, and any and all Cracker Barrels and Wal-Marts on our way to these places. ;) :D Oops, forgot Custer State Park in SD.

We absolutely LOVE being in the motorhome and can't wait the few more years until Terry retires so we can go full-time.

And yes, 2kitties, the motorhomes these days are unbelievable. Ours is a '99, so it's already 5 years old so the new ones have lots of gadgets and goodies that even ours doesn't have. The only thing is, along with all those goodies and gadgets comes a really nice price tag - that we're not willing to pay. We love our motorhome and the new ones are nice, but they don't do anything different than what ours does, but the monthly payment would at least double, so we'll stick with ours thank you very much! Last year we looked at buying a new one. It would have been our motorhome and another $100,000.00. We decided to keep the one we have and make a few upgrades to it - like the cabinets and other things - and so far we're still more than $95,000.00 ahead! ;)

Thanks for asking, and I've got lots and lots and lots and lots and lots more pictures of it - mostly of the exterior though. So if you want to see more I'd be happy to post more. :D

Debbie, I would love to see pictures of the exterior. They had a show on TV the other day my husband was watching, and they were showing Motor homes. They were really something to see, there was one that even went on water!

The inside of them looked like houses with a washer that was also a dryer. That was one I couldn't figure out at all. With their fantastic kitchen and beautiful bathrooms, they were something to see.

Please, oh please, don't let Don see your enhanced motor home. I showed him photos once before and next thing I know he is getting motor home magazines and going to RV shows!!!

We have no room for any more toys!

Looks great though!

And not only do I know where Decatur Indiana is...I've been there!

Oh what a wonderful home away from home you have! That is what Jerry and I would LOVE to do one day .... but that is waaaaaay down the road for us right now! Still 4 teens at home, and now the new grandbaby on the way!
If EVER we get these kids grown and truly "on their own" .... we may hit the road and never come back!!!;)

I would love to see more of your motor home as well .... so I can plan my retirement!!! :D

The puppy is so sweet. And fun -but of course anyone should be careful with towels and shirts and shoes;)

If cats can live outside in a really safe place they can have a lot of fun. Love that picture of the kitty on the roof:)

Great pics. Your motorhome is great! How many berths does it have?

I loved all the doggie pics, but the one of the cat saying "Forget the dogs and pet ME" is priceless!

We have no room for any more toys! Trust me, I didn't think we did either, but slow but sure the other toys are disappearing - motorcycles are gone, vettes haven't been moved in months, bicycles on the other hand get used a lot more since we can bring them along. :)

Are motorhomes cat friendly???As long as the kitty isn't a "bolter" the only problem I see is where do you put the litter box? Most of these don't have a lot of room to spare except, it seems, in places you wouldn't want to put a litter box like in the bedroom or living area. But I've met a few people now who full-time and have their kitties with them. The one couple had 4 cats and 3 dogs. Ok, ok, they had a 45' bus not a 40' motorhome, but still.  The biggest obstacle I have with taking T & P is that Terry is a wimp. ;) He would be a basket case worrying about them, so I'd have to be a basket case worrying about him, although we are planning on doing a test run this summer sometime. Tubby has already been in the motorhome, but not while we're traveling. I think he would adore it since he's such an adventure kitty, but Terry worries because Tubby's so old - doesn't want to give him a heart attack or anything. Peanut is a scaredy cat (which is what worries Terry about her), but I think she would do just fine - especially once we were parked and all set up. MY only concern is that Tubby sometimes doesn't squat enough when he pees so even though he's in the box, the pee is not. This is not a big issue in the basement, but if we've got limited space for a litter box to begin with......

How many berths does it have? It has a queen bed in the bedroom and the couch pulls out, but the couch can realistically only sleep one adult comfortably. The saying with these types of motorhomes is "Cocktails for 8. Dinner for 4. Sleeps 2." :D

And sorry guys, I forgot to post pics last night and most of them are on my home computer, so I'll post this one for now and some more later this evening.

This is how we look going down the road towing our Tracker.

Yep, and we'll be spending a lot of time out your way, Lisa. Of course half the baby boomers that retire and buy motorhomes will be out your way, so you might just tell us all to go home! ;) :D

Those cabinets are a lovely addition!! Stepping into your motor home at Findlay made me feel all nostalgic. :) My parents have a 5th Wheel camper and I still love to go on camping trips with them when I can. :)

The pups and kitties were too adorable!!

I meant to reply to this thread sooner.
Great photos!:D
Your motorhome looks great!
Those dogs are so cute!
Are they both Yellow Labs?
How could you not want to take one home with you?
Did they convince Terry that he should get Tubby a new puppy?
I also love the photo of the cat on the hot tin roof!:)
