Here's Duke wearing his very first bandana with his name on it. Petlover had my name and we got the gifts last night. Duke is all excited because we were going to visit Flair. Jan gave him a beautiful new maroon halter. It looks red in some of the pics but it's not. Here he is barking in excitement.

Val, I don't think I have ever seen pics of Flair before. He is beautiful! I'm so glad you posted pics of him. I love horses. Horses and dogs....*sigh* Do you ride?

Now lets talk about Duke! That boy just gets better looking with each pic. He sure is getting good at posing for the camera. Are you taking him to modeling classes...;) I love his new bandana. It looks great on him.

Beautiful pictures. Duke is handsome as always, and Flair is just gorgeous. I used to have a horse waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when I was in high school, she was 1/2 Arabian, and 1/2 American Saddlebred. I really miss having a horse, they are wonderful.

Great pictures! How are horses around dogs generally? I run into them rarely but on occasion on trails. I keep Sadie close to me and on a leash because I know nothing about horses and I'm afraid they might get startled and kick her.

Thanks everyone! About dogs and horses: I think it really depends on the dog and the horse. Like the horse next to Flair is super scared of dogs because he got attacked by them in the past. You have been doing right by keeping the dog on leash and close to you. Duke and Flair get along great except that Duke gets so excited and I have to remind him to quit running around the horse.

My RB collie Willie loved horses. He'd get so excited around them. He would bark if people rode horses by him, I had to step in and make him stop that as I sure didn't want him spooking someone's horse, especially while they were riding :o.

I have a couple pictures of him with a couple of horses that used to live by my Mom's place and we would walk the dogs over and visit the horses. They may have been raised around dogs, they were just really curious and not scared of them.

Hope Val won't mind if I post a couple pics of them here with the horses.. if they show up. My domain has been going up and down a lot lately :(. The first is with David and both horses and the dogs. Cody was only semi-interested but Willie just loved them. The second is just Willie and one of the horses. You can kind of see how excited his face looks, and his tail was wagging too.
