Luna is an incredibly cute kitten with a sweet little face, and I enjoyed looking at her other photos on your website. I'm sure she'll grow up to be a loving cat. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Luna is a beautiful baby!! Thank you for sharing her with us. I've had two tabbies (one was a Maine Coon cross), both are now together in Kitty Heaven. They were incredible friends and made my home a special place to be. I am looking forward to getting a new baby very soon and hope I am fortunate enough to be adopted by one as precious as Luna. Really enjoyed your website.

Hi Margaret and Betty, I just found out that there is a message board on this site now! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I'm Luna's mommie, and I couldn't believe what huge reponse she got yesterday when she was Cat of the Day! It was wonderful and overwhelming!

Betty, I'm so sorry to hear about your losses! It's heartbreaking to let them go, I've been through the same this year when my Katz passed away at the age of 14. But Luna makes it so much easier to bear! Have a lot of fun with the new baby you're going to adopt, I'm sure it will be a cutie and brings a lot of joy!

Yes, it's great to be able to share stories and ideas and to ask questions on this wonderful site. It's a lot of fun to explore each of the categories to see what people have written in "Pet Talk". I am so very glad to know that there are others in this world who feel such love for their pets.

Hi again everyone! I totally agree this is a wonderful forum to meet others who share the love of pets - almost feels like we collectively have a whole family to enjoy. Also, by checking the BB everyday, I have learned so many new things about caring for our feline furry friends and about the distinctive and charming personalities they each possess. It's wonderful to experience their unconditional love and the comforts of their presence.

I have had kitties since I was a child and they have all taught me amazing things in their own special ways. It's certain my next baby(ies) will have more wisdom for me - these are things we can count on.

It's great to meet all of you and your precious kitty-kids.

Hi Betty!

Do you already know when your new kitten arrives?
It's so much better to have a cat around, these five weeks this year after my Katz died and before I got Luna have been so sad. Getting Luna so soon was the best I could do! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Hi Kirsten

You're probably right - getting a new kitten would have been ideal. However, I've have two issues: 1, my husband was really sensitive after losing our 16 year old tabby, August, that he couldn't imagine having another kitty right away, and 2, at the moment we are undergoing a house renovation which potentially presents some dangers to a curious little kitten!! Unfortunately, the style of our home doesn't currently permit a "safe zone" with the reconstruction underway and the only solution would be to close the kitty up in a bedroom. I would feel terrible doing that since I know how much kitties like to explore.

Normally our home is a really fun place, especially for kitty cats and I want our new baby to have that freedom. Actually I want the pleasure of watching a mischievous little kitten exploit that curiosity - it's too fun!

So, to answer your question - no I don't yet know when it will be okay to bring a kitten home. When it is however, I assure you there will be a new kitten or two in our family!!!

Until then, I have to be content enjoy everyone else's kitties....

Hi Betty,

I agree, as long as you're doing renovations in your house it's probably better to wait with the new kitten, too many things can happen and cats hate the mess and the noise anyway!

But as far as your husband goes... I can understand his reaction very well, when his relation to August was that special, it's only natural that he thinks no other cat can ever replace it. I thought the same when I lost my Katz but I can say from my own experience that it's so much better to have a new cat around. Luna isn't like Katz and could never replace her, but she's a cute and adorable being and I never expected that I could love a cat so soon after my Katz went, but I could, and getting her was the best I could do. Katz will always be in my heart, but when Luna came to my place, I realized very soon that there was still enough love left or this new little baby...

Hi Kirsten,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is heartbreaking to lose our little friends and a very difficult adjustment to make. Time is a good healer. Also, finding a new friend to love is the ultimate source of comfort. August was my angel after we lost a beloved Old English Sheepdog to cancer. August helped me through that period of mourning; he also helped both of us survive the loss of Roxy, our Maine Coon. Actually August was the most devastated because she was his constant companion but his presence was the most comfort to us. So, when we lost August last summer, the grief was pretty awful, as you can imagine.

But now it's time to put that behind us and enjoy the experience of a "new family". August and Roxy would approve.

Have a wonderful weekend and please hug Luna for me.

Betty, I'm sure August and Roxy are sitting together in Kitty Heaven and would love to see you getting a new sweet little cat baby to receive all the love they already got from you! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
