Dannielle (my grandaughter) and I went to the Scientriffic event which was one of the Wrexham Science Festivals (http://www.wrexhamsf.com/), these creatures were part of 'Snakes Alive' in the Animal Zone.

Here are some more creatures.
I fell in love with this guy, really, a Burmese Python, he is gorgeous and very big!!:D

I like spiders but even so I was a bit wary of it actually being on me, but it was great! I went back for seconds but it got so busy, everyone wanted a turn! :)

The big python, until today I liked snakes, but now I love them. He was so .... oh, I can't explain, guess you snake keepers and lovers know what I mean.:)

Oh, I couldn't be without my Ebby's purr and Bobby's waggly tail, I love them to bits. :)

Even though I know I couldn't, nor wouldn't, keep Mr Burmese Python as a pet, anymore than I could, or would, a big cat, I felt honoured to get so close to him, and the other creatures. I love them and respect for them for what they are, facinating and, to me, beautiful. :D

Lucky! :D

The spider and snakes are so pretty! :) Recently they had a science fair at one of the local Malls. Andy and I happened to be shopping that day and Potter Park Zoo had some animals there, including an owl, python, and a bunny.

The python was curled up in a cat bed and the bunny was not very happy about having to share the table. ;)

But everyone played nice.

Glad you liked them Kimmy! :D

There was a bunny, guinea pig and a chinchilla too, but quite a ways from the python! :)

In a different part of the zone we learned something about how snakes and lizards are different. This guy explained the difference between snakes and lizards by first showing us a the markings on small cornsnake, (it spent the rest of the time around his neck :)) then an indigenous lizard without legs, and one with itty bitty tiny legs, then a sand lizard (which the cornsnake was very interested in) and finally a gecko. :D

One summer when I was in school in Tucson Arizona a friend and I rented an apartment for the summer. It was a dump, a dive, a hovel.....ghastly. One night I had washed my hair. I saw the biggest, hairiest spider EVER! I was then (as I am now) in charge of dispatching insects. I couldn't do it. It would have been like smashing a mouse!

I stuffed a towel under the door and off we went to get my boyfriend to come and deal with it (we had no phone.) On the way I kept saying..."The biggest, hairiest spider I've EVER seen."

Finally it hit me...big hairly spider = tarantula!

Sure enough. My bf, who had had them as pets ( ) knew what to do. He captured it and released it outside.

Trust me Chris...it is different when they are in your bathroom.

Some spiders I get a bit errr let's say jumpy around. But most crawly things don't faze me! I'll never forget the sight I saw as a child, of a nest of freshly born garter snakes. Or are they snakelets? There were so many, I was fascinated all coming out of an old pasture wall! :)

http://img42.photobucket.com/albums/v128/QueenScoopalot/Carmen_Iguana.jpg This is my sweet natured, rascal iguana Carmen who was rescued from very unsuitable living conditions. She was only going to be temporary until I fell in love with her! She has a temperment like a cat and will close her eyes and lean for pats. She really is a nice lizard! :) :D

What an enchantingly beautiful bunch of critters! (That third one is a Reticulated python BTW, Spectacular animal!! :) ) I've never seen a spider quite like that before, I'm intrigued... We have a few big burmese like the middle guy at my workplace, and I tell you..they're all kitten tame!! I love them!!

QueenScoopalot, That is one GORGEOUS iggy! It always warms my heart to see a well-cared for iguana...as I'm sure you know that many of them aren't. She looks wonderful!!

Reticulated Python, of course! I remember now, or rather I remember thinking Articulated, and I knew that wasn't right. :D Thanks Wolfchan! :)
