As the "Pet Peeve" thread has resurfaced, I decided to start another positively toned thread in response. There is good n the world.

How about one small pleasure per post. If you're stuck, spring is arriving in North America, what do you enjoy about that?

So one small pleasure this:

Seeing the fat dark green tulip shoots, some rimmed in a narrow band of red, an inch high in the front yard.

Taking Malone out first thing in the morning....all is so still, except for the sounds of wild birds all around, filling the air with whistles and calls. You can feel birdie love in the air, and spring chickies on the way. :):D

I hope I can add the European spring too (not just the North American ;)):

I love the crocusses as they are the first bright colours in the grey and brown tones of our winter. They appeared immediately the first day the snow was melting 2 weeks ago.

The feeling of renewal. So many people have mentioned the desire to make things clean and fresh to go with the season (including me!:D )

Now...back to my cleaning!

Uncovering the motorhome in anticipation of our first trip of the season - which is this weekend!!! Yippee!

Even though it's supposed to be rainy (which is another pleasure instead of snow) it's supposed to be warm....and I'm getting new cabinets in the motorhome! I'm so excited! :D Terry's actually on his way already and I'll be joining him late tomorrow night.

Oh, and also, I'm like Jo, just being able to wake up when it's not pitch dark outside is enough for me. :D

Picnics on the beach, when it's still not *quite* warm enough there for most people so they're almost empty.

What, Richard, does the Jasmine plant just run by the door and you reach out and catch it? ;) :p :D

The flowering trees - plum, cherry, apple...

Bulbs - the dafodills are in full bloom and the tulips aren't far behind.

Just being able to be back outside again - housework and laundry can wait for a rainy day. Also, by working out in the yard its a time to reconnect with neighbors since we've all be sequestered inside.

Daylight - less than two weeks until daylight saving time - my favorite day of the year.

smart arse!

Here in CA we don't have a lot of the spring stuff that goes on in your neck of the woods! One sad thing is seeing the pollution take it's toll on the plants out here....we had scads of eucalyptus trees that have long since died....I miss those trees!

We have some jasmine plants in the neighborhood that have started to perfume the area, that is a wonderful smell, especially when the breeze picks up late at night.

the smell of the first shovel full of soil being turned up.

That was one thing I was thinking about too, Corinna. I love the smell of fresh turned dirt.

I love seeing the trees blooming, they look so beautiful! Spring is my favorite time of year!

Great Thread, Karen!!

Well, we don't get many changes of seasons down here ,which is depressing. However, the smell of the orange blossoms right now is so heavenly!

well it is changing to Autumn here soon, and I love to see all the pretty leaves on the trees, especially some of the streets are just beautiful not far from where I live.

Dinner.

I get home around dinner time and now that the windows are open to the house you can smell the meals being cooked.....

That and a good BBQ!

What a nice thread. :)

Spring means I can open the windows so that nice, fresh air can come in.

I think a moon roof is just smaller than a sun roof.

Opening my windows for the breeze to come in.

The smell of fresh cut grass.

Being able to stay out later at the dog park with Bailey and Guinness.

Watching the leaves come in on the tree outsite my bedroom window.

Being able to sit outside with a nice glass of iced tea and watch the world go by.
