Today I was working in the basement, trying to go through all my stuff to get things cleaned up so we can turn it into a family room. I realized that I never introduced my two, rare breed cones. Martin and Whitey are white patterened cones, very sensitive to light... they have to stay where they will not be exposed to too much light. They are also very much senior cones...Whitey was adopted on 10-7-88 and Martin on 10-20-1989.

Well, well, Amy are there any more surprises hiding in your basement???? And I call your dogs my grandogs but do I have to call your cones my grancones????

Where did the names Martin and Whitey come from?

(By the way, would you tell Ralph that I think he better quit working on the musical - you are spending TOO much time alone!)

Whitey and Martin are soooo cute, even for seniors :D :D Thank you for sharing those photos.

Have you noticed a decrease in appetite??? My Gilbert is not quite that old but he doesn't eat anywhere near as much as he used to. I also had to change his diet to include more pebbles.

The dogs have found all sorts of fun surprises hiding in the basement...froma Koosh ball to platic footballs that the cheerleaders tossed intothe crowd at football games to several of Genie toys to play with!

Martin, of course, comes from Van Buren, and Whitey, well, the color provides the name! And I haven't been alone too much today...I was at the studio for rehearsal from 2- 3:30 and for dinner from 8-9:30!!

Slick, like your Gilbert, they do seem to require more stones in their diet. I think that is just part of a cone aging...

I hope you'll bring them to Findlay Park. I'm sure Carl the Cone and Camille would LOVE to meet more of "their" kind.

Martin and Whitey are rare indeed. They are so sweet.

I wanted to share with all of you that I met the dearest cone just a week ago.

He is tiny - about the size of Whitey - and *sob* he is handicapped. He is a deep blue and his handicapped condition is marked on his side. I guess they have him marked that way so you won't drive over him.

He was taking up a whole parking space and I noticed no one parked where he was sitting - very considerate don't you think?

I didn't have my camera with me that day so sadly I cannot share him with you in person.
