Just wanted to see if this had been thought about any more! I really want this to happen, and, I don't want it to go overlooked in the "meeting" section..... :)

I'm definately still going.

Even if no one else shows up - I'll just be sitting there all alone with my dogs, hehe :)

I'll be there! My boyfriend may even be able to make it. But, for sure, Finn and I will be there! He'll be four months old that day if we do it on the 24th. :)

Since Finn is going, I don't think we should go to a dog park. We can go to a normal park where dogs are allowed, but not necessarily a dog specific park. That way little Finn won't be exposed to as many doggie germs while his immune system is still developing. I CANT WAIT TO MEET that cute little guy :D :D :D Reece will love him!

Good to know I won't be sitting all by myself :D

He'll have all of his shots by then, though. It would still be bad for him to be around the dogs? Hmmm...everyone has told me once he had his shots he should be fine. I'll have to ask my vet what her opinion about is, but, were you saying that based on him not having his shots? Sorry, that's just the first I've heard of that....

I figured at 4 months he would have just had his 2nd shot. They're pretty safe after the 3rd booster. I'm just used to my vets who don't do the third one until about 4 and a half months or even later sometimes. Finn might be on a different schedule though.

Its a good idea to clarify with your vet. I didn't mean to worry you or anything. I'm just used to counseling people at the shelter who adopt 8 week old puppies and plan on taking them to Petsmart and dog parks at that age  I'm sure Finn will be fine though since he'll be done with shots!

Cool. Yeah, when I got Finn, he wasn't quite eight weeks old, and, my vet said his first set had been given earlier than was recommended, but, because he had gotten his first set already, she just continued on that schedule. He was born on dec 24, first set was feb 10, so, his second was on march 10, and, his 3rd will be on april 10. Actually, my friends just got a pit bull pup at five weeks and she said he'd already had his first set!! Wow. I thought seven weeks was too soon. But, whatever. And, I'll have my vet check Finn out before we go out there, just to be on the safe side. Everyone else's dogs are all grown, though, right? Just assuming all shots will be up to date.

My dogs are healthy and up to date on shots. They won't be carrying any puppy germs because its been about 2 months since I've had foster pups in the house.

Pretty sure everyone else who is bringing dogs has adults who are up to date also.

Did you see the thread in the meetings section? If everyone agrees, we might be going to that park that has beaches. We can see if little Finn likes water (my Lab HATED it, haha)

I just replied to the meetings thread. The beach park sounds awesome. My boyfriend says he's been there, and, he says it's nice. It's Joe Poole Lake, is it not? That's what Chris was saying. I'm excited, now! We have a location!

I was just reading in today’s paper that a new off Leash Park is opening on April 3rd in Fort Worth. Dogs must be licensed an up-to-date on rabies vaccinations. Dogs that are aggressive or in heat are not allowed. There is going to be a special fenced area for small dogs less than 40 pounds.
Did anyone go to the dog show this weekend?
I didn’t stay very long since this was my first weekend off in months and I needed to catch up on things. Never the less it was fun, even know I missed the GSD’s and got there to late for the Obedience trail which I really wanted to watch.
Some pictures from the show:
