Lolly turns into a crazed lunatic when she sees or hears sprinklers. She also knows the word 'sprinkler' and will start jumping, barking, and spinning if anyone says it. I like to let her play in them because it boosts her confidence and really energizes her. She's pretty much at her happiest when she's playing in the sprinklers.

I think I overdid it tonight though :( I let her play for about 10 minutes. I think I usually just let her play 5 min or so. Her eyes are a bit red now and she's shaking. I don't think she's cold. I'm not really sure what's wrong :( She seems stressed almost, but it doesn't make sense to me. She was extremely happy while playing and when I called her to come in, she started showing signs of stress. She's never done this before. I think she just overdid it playing.

Here are a few pics.

Lolly is so cute playing in the sprinklers! She probably just got excited!

Jojo won't go near sprinklers! Tiny loves to get in them! will run through mud puddles to get a splash of water on her self. Then she wants to get warm by getting in my clothes!

Oh what fun! Chester loves for me to put the gun nozzle on the water hose and spray it all around the yard so he can chase it and get soaked. :)

Lolly looks like she had a great time. Chester sometimes looks stressed after he's played in the water too long. His eyes get red & glassy from the water and he shakes for ever, even in 110 degree weather in July. I usually put out hair dryer on warm/low and warm him up really good.

Does she bark or growl or anything while she's playing?

Oh yeah, she barks. growls, yodels, squeaks, squawks, you name it! Its really funny to watch!

It turns out she was stressed because she had an upset tummy. She spit up a bit of water and acted like she did the worst thing in the world. I used the jolly routine and pretended it was nothing to get her over it and she was fine soon after. She's only thrown up 2 other times in the 3 years I've had her (both times were times I was also throwing up - weird, huh?). Anyway, her old owners must have yelled at her when she threw up :(

I can just picture her going nuts in the sprinkler! :D :D :D

Millie was like that the one time she threw up, too. :( She looked like she thought I was going to hit her for it. :(

Wow! Those are great pictures. Don't you just love it when your dog has a *zest for life* like that? If I hadn't seen these pictures, I wouldn't have thought Lolly would be so playful. I always thought she was the more sedate type. Lolly girl, you have been holding out on me.

She is very low key... until she hears those sprinklers! It really warms my heart to watch her play because she has come such a long way. She's had to overcome 5 years of abuse. We still hit some bumps in the road, but she is SO much better and loving life!

At the first Pet Talk Texas gathering, I, and I alone (besides momma Aly) got to the trhe snarling wild, crazy Lolly! It's quite a transformation. Grrrrrr shake! shake!
