Mascots

The school that my sister works at is expanding. They are building new buildings and getting rid of the portables. They are changing the name of the school form "Southland Christian School" to "Southland Christian Academy". They also want to change the colors and mascot. Right now the colors are red and black, and the mascot is flames. Kind of stupid of a christian school, I'm not sure who came up with that.

I was wondering what your school colors and mascot was/is, or if you have any good suggestions.

Here are some suggestions from some of my schools through the years:

Orange/White - Longhorns
Red/Green - Highlanders
Red/White - Rockets
Green/White - Chargers
Red/White - Owls
Maroon/Yellow - Bobcats
Maroon/Grey - Rebels
White/Red - Raiders

We are the Warhawks;) And our colors are blue (kind of a sky blue) and silver/white:)

Black/Teal- Rattlers...that's what we are. :p

But for a christian school, I like navy blue and silver colors with an owl, or some kind of less intimidating animal for a mascot. :)

Elementary - Red & white, Seahawks.
Middle School - Black and Yellow, Pathers.

Our local high school is the Pirates and colors are red & white.

My school was the Fighting Farmers (ugh) and colors were maroon & white.

We are blue/gold and we are the Roughriders! whooo!

These have been mine throughout my school years:

blue/white - Quasars (what kind of elementary school kid knows what the Heck a 'quasar' is?!)
red/yellow - Firebirds
black/red - Trojans (they changed it to Falcons this year).
Gold/black - Owls (I hate being an owl lol).

a mascot? umm its like like a symbol for the football team. Some schools have people dress up in costumes as them.

Yes actually, I did. :) I see you're from TX, too. :) I live in Wylie now, which is north of Garland (if you knwo where that is, lol)

I used to go to Lewisville until 2 years ago, then we moved to Corinth (Just off the Lewisville Bridge)

I go to McNeil High. It`s "rich" school. I guess you would call it that. And it`s HUGE!!!!!

I still remember a cheer for when i tried out for cheerleading.. Every time i say the colors it pops in my head..

Thank you all. This is the first chance I've had to read all your posts (I couldn't use the computer, my husband was working on it the last few days :( ). I'm still not sure what they're going to go with but I'll give all these to my sister, for some ideas. Thanks again.

the next town from me (Callington), there crappy football team is called Callington colts, they are so crap it makes me laugh, they have no colours and no mascot. but then again they dont deserve one,lol

My high school was (and still is) the Vikings. There was a strong Swedish influence in my home town. Our colors were a very Swedish blue and white.

High School: Hunter Green/White; Hunters

Purple,Black and White- Mavericks (new highschool)

Red and Black- Red Devils (old highschool it was torn down before I went to high school)

Blue and Gold- Gators (old junior high before the build the new elementary and junior high)

We were just talking about this at work this morning!!!!!

In elementary school, we were green and gold, the Hornets

In high school, we were blue and gold, the Rams

And in college, blue and white, Nittany Lions:)

My husband's high school was the Red Rovers, and their mascot was a dog:rolleyes:

A girl I work with is from a town called Oil City, PA--their mascot is the Oilers:rolleyes:

With our pumpkin-colored wool (no matter how hot it was out) band jackets, we privately called ourselves the marching pumpkins.

The college I'm in now...uhh...I know that we're "the vikings" but I don't know any more than that.

All the public schools in Eaton Rapids had the same mascot. The Greyhound!!! :D Our colours are maroon and white. :)

Growing up I always tried to convince my parents that we needed a greyhound to show school spirit. ;) :D

We are also, the only Eaton Rapids on earth. :) Our little claim to fame. :)
