Lily obviously loves the cat perfume she got from Denmark, looks like she can't get enough of it. :) However, she tried to open the bottle (and was sucessful in the end): :)

It contains valerian! :) Would surprise me if there wasn't such a product available in the United States. :)

Wow! I didn't know there were such a thing as cat perfume. Works like catnip, I suppose.
Great pictures, and they are always bright and clear. You must have a good camera and (of course) there's a good photographer behind it.

Great pics! She really seems to be into trying to get that durn thing open already! :D Thank goodness she was successful in the end and can enjoy the perfume to its fullest. :D

I don't believe valerian is available here.

I think Barbara's going to have to bring an extra suitcase to pack the vitamin paste and now cat perfume in so our American kitties can enjoy all these European fancies. The good news is the suitcases won't go home empty since I understand T & F were quite enamored with the Temptations. :D

Oh Lily, I wonder what's in that! :eek: she sure seems to enjoy it! :D Must be some kind of Baldrian or something alike! I'm gonna send this to my vet and see if he knows it - I've never seen or heard about it.

Btw, my vet told me about something to spray inside a carrier box to calm down a cat during travel, but I don't know what it is. I'll ask. ;)

Bisi.cat was kind enough to send my kitties some of the vitamin paste and some homemade valerian filled pillows and they are in heaven. They all love the valerian just like catnip but Scout especially goes wild over the smell. It has a very strong pungent smell.
Ripley and Scout especially love the vitamin paste. Scout will start licking as soon as she sees the tube. We need to get both those things here in the states.

What great pictures. They both seem to like it alot.

Valerian is supposed have the same effect on cats as catnip. From everything I have read it looks like it is safe for them too. I know that you can get Valerian supliments for human consumption in the states, so I don't know why they would not sell it for cats here too.

Lily does exactly what Boomer does with the bottle, lol (I always have to put band aid on the bottles, coz he chews through it). All my babies love that cat perfume btw.

...and yes, it's a Valerian extract.

Thanks, Viking, but I still have a lot of it left in the bottle. :) A couple of drops are enough to make my girls go crazy over it! Lily is rolling on the spot I "perfumed" yesterday. :) However, it's been a great gift! :)

Seems to me valerian (baldrian) isn't very popular in the United States? Here in Germany you can buy valerian tea (which helps to calm you down), and this tea is great to fill self-made cat toys with it, like little cushions or pads. My Katz loved them so much that she would drool over them, and also Luna and Lily are enjoying them.

It's a very cheap and simple way to make a cat happy. :)

And yes, it has the same effects as cat nip. :)

BTW, Edwina's Secretary, that French perfume looks great, what a cute bottle! :)

You can buy valeriana exctract or valeriana pills in any pharmacy here. It is good for mild heart problems and it works great as a calmant.

Juni LOOOOOOVES it. Pichu likes it, but so so.

So did I! I just remember, I have got a bottle of Baldrian, the content is Valeriana officinalis. I also says: 68 vol. % alcohol. In fact, this was what I put on the Christmas cards 2002. :D Humans can take 30 - 40 drops before bedtime. It also comes in pills, I tried once - 3 or 4, they had no effect on me really. ;)
