I got 36% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee.

I've lived in OH all my life ( Except 6 months in Az), yet I'm 53% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category. Too many trips to Florida and too many years in Cincinnati, I guess :D

That's my score! I'm originally from South Carolina, but, I don't have much of an accent because I've not lived there for fourteen years. But, I've lived in Texas since 1998. :)

the test does only takes the states into account though lol I saids for the shoes one, "running shoes" thats what everyone around her calls them, but the test said "This is also rarely used." lol the ONLY thing I have ever heard. :eek: I couldnt answer the last question though I have never heard of the bug how the heck am I supposed to know what its called? :confused:

LOL... my husband and I are having a serious debate over whether they are "roly poly" or "potatoe bugs" - I'm gonna call my mom and have her tell him I'm right!:D
Also, I scored much lower Yankee than he did, and he's lived in the south and from a very historical southern family!!!

49% Yankee... I've lived here in the Pacific NW my whole life. What I found interesting was that a lot of my answers had a mid-west origin. My parents are both from the mid-west so that might be some of the influence.

I noticed on the sandwich question, they didn't have what I'd really say. The choices were Sub, Hoagie, Grinder and Hero. I picked Sub, but what I'd normally say would be Po'Boy.
Here's a couple that me and a northern friend usually debate over:
For being scared, she says Beejeebers and I say Bahjabbers.
For a near location reference, she says Kitty Corner and I say Katty Corner (although it sounds more like Kaddy Corner, with my accent).

Fixing to vs "just about" or "going to".
Example:
I'm fixing to make breakfast.
