We’re well in to February and I thought it’s time to see if you have a favourite thread you think is worthy of the title "Thread of the year 2003". :)

If you each post 1 - 5 thread titles here, I will set up a poll with the 10 most popular threads, and then we vote. See last years Thread of the year 2002 (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?threadid=23680&highlight=thread+of+the+year)

The closing date for nominations will be 8th of March, that will give you about 2 weeks to find the threads you want to nominate, and post them. Good hunting! :D

Note: The thread you nominate, has to have been started in 2003!

To get things started, here are some of my favorites.!!

Karen & Paul, when you started PetTalk (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27242&highlight=karen+and+paul)

Lily's Journey to Canada (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28747)

Edwina - On the Subject of Tuxedo's (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33117)

Eduaro's Diary - July (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29997)

I think my favorite was:

Spelling Does Count in Life (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29733)

Very controversial - but it was a facinating debate.

I like the tuxedos one! It's really cute! :D I only joined in 2004, so I really can't nominate any though, since I haven't read any of the old thread! :)

Perhaps I'm biased, but I think this thread showed one of PT's greatest moments. I still get teared up when I read it :)

A very good choice of threads so far. :)

Freckles, you made a little mistake - the third link goes to Lily's journey, instead of Eduardo's diary ...

Don't be embaressed to choose a thread you started yourself, after all, it's the development of the thread that makes it special. ;)

I'm still thinking...but off the top of my head:

**new family member** (K9Karen) (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?threadid=29729&highlight=Logan)

Will post more later. :)

I guess I could be biased too. ;) :)

Every day that goes by I'm thankful that ya'll helped me keep my cool when Kia was ill. And for all the generous donations. :)

But I must say my vote goes to Naomi and Bassett. :) It was awesome that we were able to work together to get that tortie the surgery she needed. :)

I agree with one already mentioned. "Who is able to help Naomi (Nomilyn)".

Will be thinking of more.

I think I will be biased, I will pick "A cat name Grover", but I will come back with more.

I know one of my favorites was the one Tonya started about being a cone breeder. It was fun, and hilarious. I don't remember the name of it, I think it may have been some about, " I have a confession to make" and then she show all these cones. Tonya really has posted some interesting theads, but this one just sticks out in my mind!

If you see any weird spelled words, I am reduced to using a small laptop, and my eyesight is not too good. So I don't catch my typing mistakes. Forgive me???;)

I'll be back! Willie

Great choices...I really liked Bassett and Kia's threads, showing how PT comes truely become a community that helps each other out.

My personal favorite though was the rescue of our Spotty boy...not just for what it started out as, but for the wonferful addition to our family he has become.

So far, 12 threads have been nominated, but there's still time. :) If you can, please give me the exact titles of the threads you want to nominate. Do a search for them, or ask the member who started the thread! ;)

Since more than 10 threads have been nominated, I'll pick the ones with the most nominations and put in a poll. :)

Barbara, the Gabe thread was started in 2002 and can't go in. :(

For now, I'll be nominating Looks like I'm a foster mom (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?threadid=28701&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) started by Tubby & Peanuts mom. :)

dukedogsmom! Yes, I see that a similar thread was started in December 2003, but it was split up for the different Forums and didn't get far - so I'll go on with this. Hope it's OK with you Ramanth. ;)

I hate to be another one to suggest one of my own threads but I received a lot of help for PT people, including donations of money from people that didn't even know me. Here's the latest thread with the most on it. I was amazed at everyone's kindness.

Freckles, you can still nominate one more - will it be "Dear Piper"?

In fact, if any of you have one or two more you want to nominate, let me have them. :D

Zippy, your vote is in! ;)

My favorites are from Cat General.
I also like
Edwina - On the Subject of Tuxedos
and
The Cat Train
but my favorite is one that I started in November

While the Cat(aholic's) Away (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?threadid=38069&perpage=15&highlight=While%20the%20Cataholics%20away&pagenumber=1)

I haven't had a chance to search for good threads yet, but I did notice that all the pics in my Foster Mom thread aren't showing up. And why you ask? Well, I think I was on a cleaning rampage and deleted all of Eddie's pics from my Imagestation album. I guess I figured he was safely in his furrever home and I didn't need the pics anymore - how could I think such a thing!

I still have all the pics on my computer, so I'll try and go back and "replace" them.

Just another reason to not delete anything unless you absolutely have to. :)

Randi

Vermontcat, I have put you down for While the Cat(aholic's) Away - and you can nominate the two others as well if you like! ;)

Debbie, I noticed the pictures were gone, but the thread is still great! It's the very first we hear about Eddie - I fell in love with him immediately! I'm so glad Sara got him! :) :)

There's still time to find some you can nominate. ;)

I just have to take back the one about Grover. I just read the one about Basset, I wasn't here at that time. That was such a wonderful thing that all you at Pet Talk done. Please put that one down for me.

It showed how much Pet Talk really pulls together in a crisis, that is one I would want to nominate too.

"Who is able to help Naomi" - started June 8, 2003 by Jen Luckenbach.

Hi Randi, this is the one that gets my vote. I was so darn proud of all of us - how we came through for a wonderful girl, Bassett.

I also vote for Eduardo's diary...........but then anything that Sara starts is always so entertaining and fun.

(Thanks, Randi, I didn't realize that my link wasn't working).

Eduardo's Diaries are SO entertaining, and of course I can never get enough of the two gorgeous E's but.....

As a representation of everything that is good on Pet Talk, I think the "Naomi / Bassett" thread stands out as the BEST of the BEST!!
