I was just looking out the deck door a bit ago watching yet more snow coming down. Seems to be snowing every day here lately. It's pretty, I still like watching it, but there is a time when one gets tired of white and longs to see green again.

I was looking at the whiskey barrel on the deck that I grow some sort of container garden in during the summer. I guess in a way it's a "winter" garden out there growing day by day too. I snapped a picture of it to compare with the summer one :)

Here's the summer container garden:

And today's, the winter "garden":

I keep watching it, wondering just how high it will grow ;)

I definitely prefer your summer garden!!! I guess that's why I am a "southerner". :)

LOL!!

That reminds me of my parent's snowy deck. They have grown themselves quite a 'bank'. :D

Hehe yeah, I take it for granted how green and beautiful it is sometimes in the summer, then when I look back at pictures I am amazed. We were very fortunate in that this house already had an underground sprinkler system installed when we moved in (we could never have afforded to install one). Not only that, but the sprinkler system and outdoor water comes from a well and not from city water, so we don't pay for the water usage outside. When it gets dry in August and a lot of yards are all dried up and brown, and there are watering restrictions, ours looks green as in that picture still.

The snow is beautiful, but I just can't help but long for the green days of spring/summer again, and that earthy fresh spring scent, during a thundershower, oh my, I just love it :)

Wow, what beautiful pictures! I like both the summer and winter ones. :) You both have a lovely nature around you. I'd like a view like that from my window!

Look at it this way: no weeds to pull in today's garden!:)

Being a "summer" gardner, I love your summer container garden. Being a northerner also, I am ready to see the end of snow and the beginning of the gardening season. Love those flowers!!!
