Cat #9 will be entering my home tomorrow :) Just as a foster though! She's an adult who was dumped at my shelter in a box. We are not supposed to be taking in any cats at the moment because we are so full. They were getting ready to send the poor girl to the kill-shelter. I just had to stop them and told them I'd take her tomorrow. I'll place her through one of the rescue groups I know. She is possibly pregnant, but early enough to be spayed. I'm not sure what I'll do yet as far as that goes. I don't want to have them aborted of course, but I also have to think about all the homeless kittens already in this world :( Its a very tough decision.

Anyway, she hates other cats, or so it seems. She'll have to stay in my extra bathroom until she gets less stressed before I introduce her to my crew. I will definately post pics as soon as I get her. She's a medium haired tabby .... very gorgeous! She loves people and was rubbing all over me, but at the same time she's a bit cranky. It could just be due to stress or the other cats that were around though.

Aly,

You are such a great person for taking in Cat #9. She'll calm down. I think the stress of her being possibly pregnant and being dumped off by her stupid, idiotic, irresponsible pet owner will go away once she knows she's in a loving home, even if it IS only till they finds her furrrrever home. I just wish I lived closer, cuz I'd foster her.

Good luck. Looking forward to pictures.

I am glad you were able to take in this new foster. I know that she will begin to feel comfortable in your care and I hope a new home can be found for her soon.

As for her "stupid, idiotic, and irresponsible" owners. somebody should dump THEM.

Aly you are such a kind, caring and loving person to not allow this poor cat go to a kill shelter.
As Steffi N said, I would like to dump those irresponsible so called owners.
Good luck with her and can't wait to see pictures.

Well I just got the girl home and settled into the bathroom. They tried to test her for FIV at the shelter but she does NOT like to be scruffed and they couldn't get blood from her. They said I'll have to get her tested when I go get her spayed so she can be sedated. I think she managed to scratch every person in the clinic

My boyfriend took a few pictures, but none of them are that great since we took them about 3 minutes after I brought her home and she's still a bit nervous. He's actually downstairs now trying to get better ones.

Name suggestions are welcome!

*Please excuse the mess in the bathroom. I had just gotten home and thrown everything in the sink and my bf took the pics before I set her stuff up*

Oh my gosh - I AM SO GLAD I DIDNT LET HER GO TO THE KILL SHELTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is a precious doll! I had a feeling it was just the stress of the shelter environment that made her act a bit ,erm, nasty. People there were calling her "psycho" and "evil". PFFFFTTT!! If only they could see her rolling around on my lap licking me! It only took her about 5 minutes to settle down once she got here. She rolls upside down on the bathroom floor and sticks her paws under the crack of the door to try to play with the kitties on the other side. It was so cute, but I did put a towel down to block her from doing that since she hasn't been tested yet :( I'm going to get her into the vet as soon as they will give me an appointment so I can get her tested and spayed.

She is quite young. She didn't let me get a good look at her teeth though so I'm not positive on that. Anyway, she'll probably be a pretty easy adoption.

I'm still thinking of names ...

Here are a few more pictures:

She is a pretty little girl. I don't think that the pictures are that bad.

At first I thought she looks alot like Bob with slightly shorter hair. Then I thought no she looks more like Joey, it looks like her under coat has some red in it. Her tail is just about as fluffy as Bobs though.

How about Bobbi Joe. OK, not really inventive.:p

Mia
Tia
Marquessa
Adelaide

Shina
Taya
Selma
Rowena

That's all I've got.

She is a DOLL!!! What beautiful eyes!! She looks young and you can tell in the pictures that she is very friendly. How precious! I can't believe they were sending her to the kill shelter!!! I'm so glad you got her. She must really stress in the shelter situation if they were calling her physco! I'm so glad you gave her a chance!!
Bless you!!http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif

She looks like an Elly or Susie to me. http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/smile.gif

I think she is BEAUTIFUL. What markings, coloring and eyes and such a gorgeous fluffy tail. She showed the true lovebug she is once you got her away from the stress of the shelter. I hope all her tests go well and that she will find a forever home soon.

She is gorgeous, Aly, and it sounds like it didn't take you long to win her over! I want to name her Polly.......have no idea why. :o

Keep us posted about her testing/spaying. :)

The little girl is still sweet as ever. I'm pretty sure she's around Lucky and Chance's age - not quite a year old but almost. She's just a pleasure to have around. I'm going to get her tested on Saturday so hopefully she can start playing with my cats after that. I feel bad that she has to stay in the bathroom, but it is better than the kill-shelter.

I am pretty sure I will name her Maya. That has nothing to do with any previous PT Mayas. Don't want anyone to think I'm copying the name. I was going to use the name Mia, but my bf was using the Maya program and said he liked that name better (which I do too). But a better name may come to me as I spend more time with her, who knows!

She did let me feel her tummy and I am worried that she really is pregnant. I am really bad at trying to tell if an animal is pregnant though, so hopefully I am wrong.
