Sammy has grown his first winter mane!

Last year, at this time, Sammy was just a little guy, and he wasn't too furry, but this year, he has a fluffy mane.

In another thread we were discussing this. I have just read in a cat breed book that this "winter mane" thing is a characteristic of Norwegian Forest Cats. Maine Coones don't normally get this, so it'll be interesting to see if it occurs in Ragdolls. I'm thinking it won't because it hasn't happened in my mom's Ragdoll, but he's a real morphidite anyway. ;) :D

Sammy wants to thank everyone for the nice compliments! I believe he was blushing! He was a late bloomer I think. His mane was not nearly as fluffy around Christmas time, but I am thinking that maybe since the weather didn't start getting cold until the end of December, his mane started growing wildly then.
He certainly spends enough time cleaning it, styling it, fluffing it.:rolleyes: :D
I wonder what he may have mixed in his family. His tail is very huge, his body fur is medium, and he has a big beard. He also weighs 14 pounds!:eek: he is 1 1/2 years old.
