There's the question.. what do you want to do as a career...? Why?

Y'all know what I want to do with my life after I graduate from college.. so... I have a question to THOSE people who talk to me..

If I make it in Nashville, like, get my career into the country music industry, with graphic design, like merchandising, cd covers, etc.. would some of y'all, that talks to me often.. keep in touch and remain friends?

Check out http://www.richiebrown.net/ and check out the store - his CD is really good! He has a song that is co-written by Garth Brooks! Yes, GARTH. Richie Brown is a really nice guy and I have talked with him.. he is still breakin' in, and he is doing pretty well so far.

I designed the CD cover, too as well! I'll post my pictures on here of the CD:

I guess you can say I have a headstart now..

I know this is country music, but this is what I WANT to do. :)

That is so majorly cool! You should be really proud of yourself.
I am a dispatcher for law enforcement but if finances permitted, I would much rather be working at a no kill shelter or make my own shelter! I'm guessing I'll have to wait until I retire which really saddens me. Duke has made me realise that my true calling is with animals. I volunteer but it's just not the same.

Wow! The cd cover looks great! :D

I'm living off my parents..lol. Jordan, Jynnelle and I are planning on going to CWCC (Canada West Canine Centre) in a couple years and completing a course to become certified "Master Dog Trainers". They have a really great rep and Kai and Kae's two trainers went there. I'd also love taking a course in Victoria with Ben Kursen since he focuses on different methods. Anyways, after I get my certification, I'd like to train my own classes on the side and maybe work for petcetera or something as a trainer.

Lucky you! Is your name on there for "cover design?" That is so exciting! You should be very proud of yourself!

I always dreamt of being an interior designer - that is until I was one. Let me tell you, the burn-out factor is high. I spent the last two years hating my job. Then God smiled on me and my boss laid me off at Halloween! So what's a burned out, stressed out person to do? Follow her OTHER dream and start my own company doing portraits of people. I love it!

Very nice-looking CD cover!

I'm an ICU nurse, but I'm going back to school to be an anesthetist (the person who puts you under for surgery). I like the medical field.

I currently work in a data entry position. I know, I know, why in the world would I want to do anything else?! ;) But, yeah, I'd love to own my own photograhy studio or be able to make a living with freelance. I have discovered also a creative streak. I've written a few poems and can draw certain people really well, but, I need to be taught to build my confidence. But, photography is my passion. I've posted a few of my favorites of my kitten, Lock, here on the message board. I'd like to be able to live by just being artistic. That's the ultimate dream job for me.

Very nice cover!! I'm duly impressed.

I am a middle school science and social studies teacher. I like to work with people and I don't like to do the same thing every day over and over....and God knows that NEVER happens in the classroom.

Hey! Yep.. my name is on the cover, inside of the booklet, the artist mentions a thank you to me, and that is pretty awesome. What is a lot more cooler is that he knows Garth and he would actually arrange it for me to meet him someday if I wanted to.. Garth is my idol! LOL

Thank you guys!!

That is awesome for you.. about starting your own company..

it does gives us a feeling to know that dreams DO come true if you WANT IT TO HAPPEN for yourself and others! :)

Pretty cool for you guys too!!

I'm torn between becoming a veterinarian, or a dog trainer. I would also love to volunteer/work for Guide Dogs of America and become a regular puppy raiser. :)

That is very impressive, CountryWolf. Nice job.

I own my own business, a grooming shop and boarding kennel.

I have a degree in Accounting, however, and used to work as a financial analyst.

I'm not sure what I'll do in the future. Whatever strikes my fancy at the time, I suppose.

Good job, Rachel!! :D That looks so awesome.

Hmm...I'm not sure. I know I want to be involved with dogs, preferably Collies. Maybe have my own line of merchandise involving my photography of Collies. It's a big dream, but I'm that kind of girl who likes to make and sculpt her own things, so it just might work out. :)

That's awesome Rachel!! :D

I'd LOVE to open a Doggy Daycare/Grooming/Training...also offer Pet Portraits/Photography and sell other dog related gifts. I'd also love to have an area set up for adoptable rescue dogs.

However, unless I find some rich person who wants to donate losts of money to my cause, it's not happening. :(

I'm currently working as a Bath and Brusher at Petco. I'm debating on whether or not to become a Groomer. The pay is better, but I don't think I would enjoy it as much.

I'm going to school, maybe I'll get a degree in art. I'm not sure. I LOVE art, but it's not an easy business to get in to.

I've also considered a Vetrinary Tech or Assistant. The school that offers the degree here is expensive so I'm not sure about that right now. If I'm going to go broke for something, I want to be positive it's what I want to do.

By the looks of it I'll still be poor and living with my parents for a long time...:(

I am a radiologic technologist.
And Molly working in a hospital nothing ever goes the same way twice either! ;)
I would love to groom animals or do something with them. When I got my first dog Shaianne she made me realize that helping them are my passion.
Or open a book store/coffee shop sometime. But that's only in my dreams. :)

I have no idea what I want to do other then something that involves animals. I was kinda thinking Vet Tech, or I thought it would be really neat to work at a zoo.

I'm currently in university studying nothing inparticular..lol..and I'm working in a bar/kitchen help. Hopefully business at the kennel picks up so I can go back to that

Nice cover, I'm impressed.

I am a software tester.

I like what I do, it is really challenging sometimes and requires me to know a fair amount. I also get to learn new things all the time. I really like that.

Not really sure what I would really like to do. I sometimes would like to have a job with less responsibility and stress, but I would probably get bored.:)

I want to open a sanctuary for the kinds of reptiles that people buy as "Cute widdle babies" than then grow up to be hard to manage. Think iguanas, moitor lizards, and large snakes.

I would also try to do things like offer tours of the sanctuary to educate people about WHY these types of pets aren't appropriate for most people. (Although I know there are at least three very happy PT iggies!!)

I know that odds are something like that wouldn't bring in a whole lot of money, but I think it's worth working towards.

Photography is something that's definitly going to be in my future.

I've been asked to do alot of graphic type things, so mabey something related to what you want to do. I've even done a CD cover for a local band before. :p

Amy-- We should open the 'Doggie Daycare' together :p

I work at a bookstore...always wanted to...because I can't imagine my life without books.
In the last years I've published a few short stories in a magazine, but that meant too little money to really earn a living. (So I'm always glad I have that job in the bookstore!)
Since the beginning of this year I've started to work on my first novel, it's very time consuming, but I love it...

Most important thing in whatever you do is, hold on to your dreams...there's only one life to live so live it to the fullest!!!

I love your work and the cover design...WOW!!!:)

Beautiful cover. You are very talented.

I am an implementation specialist. Which actually means I configure and install point of sale computer systems in sporting arenas, airports, casinos, hotels, restautants, that kind of thing. I do a great deal of traveling which sounds much more glamorous than it actually is. You rarely get to see much of the city you are working in.

I would love to work as an animal behaviorist in a shelter environment, but since the pay in animal care is limited it is probably just a dream. :(

I'm a chemist; I've worked for an adhesive company, a paper company, industrial fluids, and now pharmaceuticals. My "if I win Megamillions" dream is to go to vet school (although I don't know if I could get in at my age. ;) ) At the very least I'd like to be a tech so I can learn how to heal the animals.

The other possibility is to become a cat behaviorist. I'm not sure how it happened, but I seem to be able to tame our rescue group's hard cases and get them to be adoptable.

I'm an office manager for a chiropractic and wellness center. I've learned so much there and have now started taking better care of myself, both mentally and physically. I enjoy running the office and having all of the responsibility. The doctor lets me do or buy whatever I want for the office.

I just wish work was a little closer to home. I hate morning rush hour traffic. Luckily at night I get home late so there is no traffic.

When I was 16 I wanted to be an airline stewardess.
When I was 18 I wanted to work in the theatre so I took acting classes.
While taking acting classes I worked in an office to pay for it.
When I was 26 I went back to school and upgraded my office skills then got a job as a teaching assistant at a local college.
From 28 to 30 I followed my Ex around the province and remained unemployed.
When I was 31 we returned to the Coast and I've been working ever since, currently in IT.

Nowhere in my career did I ever think of working with animals, but now that I'm older I wish I'd made that choice.

I like my job and it pays enough for the mortgage and because I've been here 18 yrs, I do get alot of perks, but it's not my passion. With only 14 yrs to go until retirement, I would be a fool to leave now.

I have been out of the work force for a long time now, raising my children, and I enjoy being a stay at home mother, but I would love to have my own business, maybe running a seaside holiday accomodation,, but thats just a dream.

I would like to help under-priviliged children or troubled teens.

One thing I might add, is I have always wanted to become a Mortician, or Mortician's Assistant, but I don't think I have the right personality to do it, too emotional, it would affect my life too much!!,working with the Dead may be too depressing, but its something I have always wondered if I were capable of doing as a Career.

I work retail in the summer at West Glacier (just outside the Park) I am helping my hubby buld a inteernet business . Hope to get a couple books published this year, kids (my adult) want me to try to get the stories I made up for them done. They both want cartoony dad to illistrate them, that could take time as he is so busy.
I enjoyed being a at home mom too it is the hardest job in the world, it was cut short after hubby got cancer and had to be home for 5 years he became the stay at home parent.

I used to work in IT and executive recruitment, but I'm now a public servant with Defence. The job itself is a little boring, but the lifestyle and Defence are great.

I've never had a calling when it comes to my career. I like a lot of things, but never found anything that I wanted to do for a long time (apart from being a racing car driver, which I've never had the funds to do!)

When I was younger I wanted to become a vet but never pursued it.:( There was really nothing in school that I was particularly really good at either so I never knew what I wanted to do.
I went to college and started out in Nursing school but realised that it wasn't for me. I then changed my major to Business and then changed it again to Psychology. I ended up with a BA in Psychology. Now I work in the dental field as a dental techinician and I don't really like it. The pay is low and the hours are sometimes very long.
I sure wish that I had pursued some kind of career that would allow me to work with animals. Even if the pay was low I'd at least be much happier. I also enjoy taking pictures of animals.:)

I now work for a credit union. It's my job, definitely not my dream career. I still not sure what I really want. OMG me too! :D People always freak when I tell them that, lol. I looked into it several years ago, but science and chemistry was always my weakest subject and here in Texas it's a 2 year degree, heavy on those two subjects. You must have the degree to be licensed and you must have a license to practice. :( Still wish I could do it.

Well Micki they say there is a job for everyone, not everyone's choice to work with the dead, but for some unknown reason it has always appealed to me, I feel kinda strange even saying that, I think in NZ to be an assistant is not too hard, you just have to do like an apprentice-ship, I would not stand a chance, chemistry and science were my worst subjects, oh well one can have dreams eh? lol,.
