Time to meet Marmalade ... Pee Wee & Jetson's Mother!

Introducing the sweet and shy Miss Marmy! Marmy was brought from a lady in another county along with 8 kittens. Six found new homes, and the other two are here with us, Pee Wee and Jetson!

Apparently Marmy was hit as some time in her life, as she flenches and shuts her eyes when you reach to pet her! :(
She is still very shy and cautious, but she does love to be petted, and she lovingly rubs up against any kitty that she passes by! It's the sweetest thing to see! ;)

Marmalade!! Whata beautiful name and beautiful, sweet looking kitty! Kim it is great fun to meet each of your cats one by one. This must be one very lovely natured cat to rub against the other kitties, even though she is a bit skittish! Do you have photos of her with any of the others?? What a dollbaby she is!:)

Marmalade is lovely. I wish I could reach out and pet her lovely fur. I hope that soon she will be reassured that reaching out your hand only means loving pets and she will not be skittish any more. I would love to see a picture of her loving one of the other kitties.

Kim, there is something about her expression especially in those first two pics that is so much like Scout. She has that look too. Scout is still a bit stand-offish about being touched. She sleeps with me at night (in my armpit) but she decides when she wants me to pet her. She was abused by some boys who were rough housing with her by zipping her up in their backpacks and tossing her around and who know what else. Luckily someone stepped in to save her and took her to the rescue group where I adopted her.

Anyway, back to my point. I kind of associate that look with a cat that has suffered some abuse in their past. I looked at Marmalade's pictures first before reading your post and figured she had probably been abused at some point.

Sorry to ramble on.

I think she is very pretty and I bet she will come around with time.

Yum Yum Marmalade! You look delicious! Mishi's the same way with petting and it sounds like he went through a similar sort of abuse before he came to live with me. I'm so glad Marmy's now found a furrever home with you!
