Me, watching the weather channel, knew we were going to get hit hard, but I like playing in deep snow with Kia.... I just hate driving in it.

I still had to work that day, but since it was still coming down hard at 3 p.m., Cooley decided to cancel all it's evening classes and close it's buildings at 5 p.m. Thankfully, our boss here at the Library said we could go home before 5. :D I got out of work at 4 and it took me an hour to get home. Not bad, the roads being like they are. I live a half hour away on good roads.

In the end, Lansing got between 7 to 9 inches of snow. Eaton Rapids topped out with the most snowfall at 10 inches.

I took a few pictures throughout the day. :)

My car this morning... it snowed another 2 inches or so last night.

Kia just had a blast in it. :D

Here's a local story on the storm, including a 50 car pile up on I-96. No one was hurt thankfully.

It's just a "dusting" if you can tell which car is yours! :p

It's SNOW when you mistakenly shovel out the WRONG car!

Dunno what happened here on the Eastern Frontier -
"Supposed" to get a total of 5-8"... never happened.

Got 4 or 5" Sunday-Monday;
then a BUNCH of :eek: rain - sleet - rain;
which FROZE everything;
then a few more inches of snow last night...

Now have VERY *Krunchie* snow that the Dawgs do NOT like :mad: !
They just get a run going, then crash through the ice layer. :mad:
It's fun watching them try to Tippy-Toe across the top;
then one or two paws punch through and all
Forward Progress halts
while they try to retrieve the Lost Paws! :D

SmokeMutt stuck his nose under a hard spot, pushed ahead, got STUCK,
and had to Back Out! :p

Mine seem to prefer the Fluffie Stuff!

Terry had to drive to the Detroit area yesterday. He left in snow and spent the whole day in snow. It was like he was caught in one of those snow globe things and couldn't get out! The good news (thankfully) is that he stayed near Detroit and didn't come home. He usually goes and doesn't worry about the weather, but I had to inform him that I worry about him in the weather, even if he doesn't. :rolleyes: The bad news is that he really hates the snow and cold. Every now and then when it's nice and light and fluffy and coming down really pretty and it's not too cold I can get him to go for a walk in it, but other than that he can't wait for retirement so he never has to see snow again. So he really had the day from h**l yesterday.

He's not scheduled to be home until Thursday, and we're supposed to get more snow on Thursday, so hopefully he'll make it home before the snow starts again.

Oh, and by the way, I love snow! I just don't like driving in it. It took be 1 hour 45 minutes to get to work yesterday - 20 miles and a normal commute of 40-60 minutes. I read an entire chapter of one of my textbooks while sitting at redlights. :rolleyes:

Makes everything look fresh and pretty when it coats everything like that, but makes driving a bit nervewracking! Get any pictures of Kia enjoying the snow? :D

It's pretty COLD here today even though it's sunny and clear. It's -13 F with a wind chill of -38 F. Even Tommy was lifting up the feetsies from that cold cold snow pretty quick while he was outside!

I don't even have the clothes to cope with that kind of weather, let alone drive a car without crashing and be able to get to work at a reasonable hour, LOL!

I won't complain that I've got a skirt on with bare legs today, but I'm cold! ;)

That looks a lot like what we got.

I had to work at 5 last night, and I knew the weather said it was going to start in the afternoon, and fall hard. So I wanted to be ready, and when it started, I was going to leave. That didn't happen--It started around 2, and I was just getting lunch, then I had to shower, take care of the dogs, and get going-I got on the road at about 3:45, and it was a disaster then--I couldn't even see 2 feet in front of me!!!!:eek:

The dogs love it though--I love watching them play in it!!!

We got it too. We didn't have school Monday and Tuesday and we had a 2 hour delay this morning and it looks like we have a delay tomorrow too. We got about 6-7 inches of snow along with the sleet and freezing rain, and then to top it all off we had 30mph winds to go along with it.

I was born and raised in the State of Connecticut. I absolutely HATED the stuff till I moved to Michigan. I love it!!! On Friday night when I got outta work, we had about 5 inches (it was still snowing) and the sparkle of the snowflakes in the parking lot lights made me smile.

Although it's cold, and I now wear a hat and gloves, something I NEVER did in CT, I love getting snowed in.

We now have a total of 14 inches of snow on the ground. You can really tell with all the piles made by the plows. :D

I was in Williamston yesterday at my friends apartment before the plows came by. It was so hard to get over there, we were almost hit two times by stupid people going too fast. I stayed there until after the plows were done so we could get home a little easier.
