I'm wondering if anyone knows of a free photo hosting site like Imagestation?

They've decided they wanted to shut down my account, so now I lost EVERYTHING on their site. I can't even access it to save it.

I'm looking for something like imagestation, with direct linking and allows to upload multiple images and make albums.

Pretty sure there's nothing like it, but if you guys know of anything please post a link and let me know :)

That is horrible about your pics! I did a search on google. There's villagephoto.com but I think this photonavy place sounds really good. www.pnavy.com And, if you can't find any you like, I'd be willing to pay the small amount of six bucks a month for you so you can have your photos online.

That's horrible what they did to your photos!!

I don't know of any sites right now, I would go with Val's advice.:)

Did they give you a reason why they shut you down?

Remember some time ago you suggested photobucket? That one is free, but I think that one has limited storage though.

I've been using shutterfly lately, it's a lot like imagestation.

I think boomspeed.com is pretty good?
*edit* oops, sorry. I guess you have to pay for it or something..erm..

Yes it is! That's what I use. It's just $6 a month and you get tons of storage, plus, the site hasn't gone down in all the time I've had the account.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, and the offer Val.. I'll have to look around some before I take you up on that.

P.S. Who rated this a "one" star? Lame.

Why'd they shut it down?! I'd die if they did that to mine...that where I've been storing all my photos. I guess I should keep them on disks too. Did they give you any warning so that you can save the pics?

BTW...someone rated my thread a one star today too. Until today, I didn't know what those meant. lol. That is lame. It's rude.

p.s. I fixed it by voting for myself! lmao.

I've got a list of some good ones here (http://www.allstarz.org/~ellefanning/links.html) -- don't mind all the other links. :)

I use Club Photo (http://www.clubphoto.com/perl/app.pl/send_page?t=store/gifts/categories/atoz_product_list.tmpl)

I use Shutterfly (http://www.shutterfly.com) when Imagestation is being a pain in the butt.

My sister uses Ofoto (http://www.ofoto.com), it seems to be a lot like Imagestation, but I personally have never used it.

That really sucks about your photos :( I wonder why that happened. I hope it doesn't happen to me! I have so many photos stored there :(

I don't have any suggestions as my isp provides free space to make your own web page sort of thing so that is what I use, but I wanted to say that was lame for them to just shut down with no warning and for you to lose all your pictures!

Also the one star thing is silly too LOL. I'll give it a five to offset it :p

I'm so happy with them now. I'm going to re-activate it when I have more time to remove all of the direct links from Pet Talk. That's going to take a LONG time. As well as trying to find old posts with photos posted. I'm sure there are some on my older names which i've lost passwords to, so I may need Karen's help?

Who knows. All i'm happy is to be able to get my photos back.

I suggest you all save all of your photos before this happens to you too. I'm sure PT has made them crazy! lol :p

Thanks for the heads up, Kay.

Does anyone know of any photo hosting sites that will not shut you down for linking them?

Photobucket.com allows you to direct link but the only thing I don't like is you can't upload multiple images/ a file at once. You can upload 20 but yuo have to click on each one to load it.

Thanks for the headsup, KayAnn! I'm glad to hear you'll get your photos back.

Does Boomspeed allow direct linking? I'd be willing to pay $6 a month if I know my photos are going to be safe.

I would be willing to pay $6 a month if they don't delete my photos.
Does that mean we won't be able to have signatures anymore?? :(:(

Kfamr
01-26-2004, 10:38 PM
It means we'll just have to load them somewhere else.

I think photobucket would be fine for Signatures because you can easily upload one at a time, but if you want to post pictures (alot of them like I do) then photobucket is a bit harder.

Yes boomspeed does allow direct linking and a lot of space! I just love it. And it hasn't been down since I joined in July of last year.

What is imagestaion not agreeing to here? They don't want you to post the pictures you upload to their site here at Pet Talk?

I am so confused! Does that mean we can't use imagestation on this site????
