We bought a 1969 Camaro...for me! Yay!

David finally decided he's going to divorce that girl, so he asked if he could store his Camaro in our garage. I took one look at it when the towtruck driver dropped it off and I knew it was destiny. We have to restore it and Mike says I can pick any color I want. I want a metallic orange. It'll be so exciting!!!

That sounds cool. What memories that brings back!

My sister had a camaro that was metallic orange when she was a teen and I was around 9 or 10. It had this horrible black interior which isn't too great in Texas in the summer. She left her windows down one night and a cat had her kittens in the back floor.

That car was never right again. :(

Hehe...I'm not too big of a fan of major shine. That second one is just too much for me...and the third isn't my top choice in shades -- It's a little too orange. :p

my first car that i owned was a 1977 red camaro. god was it terrible! i got the car from the original owner in 1985. huge chuncks of the body had allready fallen off from rust. what didn't fall off was fiberglass panels. the vinyl on the seats tore if you looked at it sideways. it wasn't a money pit tho, just routine maintence. how did it happen that such a great carline could go bad so fast?

Congrats!

I, personally, *LOVE* your choice of color. Orange is my favorite color as well; and you just don't see all that many orange cars around.

Be sure to post some photos of it when you're done (I know, it'll be awhile ;))

Mike and I were estimating last night...It'll be about 2 years and $7,000 to do it right. lol. We're calling his dad (remember the pink hair guy?) and asking him if he wants to restore it for us. He's retired and bored as heck.

Here are a few pictures. It looks like a mess, but David has actually done all the dirty work. The engine and transmission just came back rebuilt. We have all the new parts, etc... We just have to put it back together and take care of the cosmetic stuff. We only paid $1500, and we were looking online last night, we can sell all that we have without doing anything for around $5000. So it's good to know we aren't over our head.

Awesome! I really like the color orange on a 69 Camaro.

I am in completely LOVE with my neighbors 69 Camaro, I LOVE the paint job! When you look at it from different angles in changes colors from a dark purple, dark blue, metalic green, to a teal-ish blue. Drop dead beauty-ful! *DROOL*

Be sure to post pictures after the car gets painted. Hehehe, the kitty is a really good touch to the car! :p

You lucky woman! I would love to have one of those. Don't know about the orange, though. I would probably do bright metallic red. Those old cars sure are classic.
