I live on the 9th story of my complex, so Boomer's chances to go out on our balcony are few and far between. However, today he wanted out and just looked so cute that I couldn't resist!! Soooo here is his great adventure:
First, the looks that did me in. He just kept looking at me and then the door meowing that pitiful little "Plllllllease meooooowmie, look I'm giving you my kissy spot!!"

"How dare you pretend that you can resist this face?"

"Maybe I can dig my way out!"

"Ohh!!! It's outside! Must proceed with caution"

"Ahhh, this is mine, it's all mine!" WOuld you look at those beautiful eyes:)*sigh*

"Ohhh that's kind of a long drop!"http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid99/p2dcabd2f41a82f4068a3f07612b7b196/f9f40b2d.jpg

No more pictures, shortly after this last one Boomer decided to be super daring and stuck his head between the bars on the railing. That little stunt ended his little outdoor adventure:rolleyes: :D

I missed this thread!

Boomer, you were so close to freedom! Why did you have to go and ruin it by getting too greedy? Learn the lesson and behave next time!

Pouncer did the same thing, only went so far as to try and shimmy down the gutter and drain pipe.

Hopefully he's too big to slide between the rails in the spring. He scared the devil out of me when he did that! At one point, I was screaming in the house for someone to grab him while my husband and I were standing on the ground to cacth him. This is Allen's most favorite place in the world and he makes sure Pouncer didn't try to test gravity.;) :)

I am sure you will get that look now often from Boomer :D

My boys have their netting round the balcony so they can go whenever they want.

Ohhh, Boomer and Pouncer, don't you know how dangerous it is to lean over the railing? Doesn't surprise me that your meowmies won't let you.

These nettings look like a good idea for a safe outdoor adventure. :)

Boomer looks so cute exploring new territory!
My husband bought sheets of plexiglass/plastic and had them cut to size. They fit perfectly on the deck underneath the railing. He drilled a couple of holes in each sheet and wired them to the wood spindles. Halo and Cammie love exploring the deck and our view isn't obscured. We're only on the second floor, the Halo looked determine to jump to catch birds.

I wish that i could fix up some sort of plexiglass shield, but being government housing I would have to go through the work order process to do ANYTHING and that would mean my having to admit that ihave a kitty... They were supposed to put up pigeon netting last year but haven't gotten around to it yet, I hope they do that soon!!!My only concern is that he could fall between the netting and the wall. The nets will be hooked to the outside of the building with about an inch long hook. I've not actually felt the netting so I'm not sure how tight it will be. I may just have to go by the housing office today and whine about the pigeon droppings on my balcony:rolleyes: You can see the pile in the pics, so GROSS, but I can't exactly clean it up without a hose hookup or anything. It's their job to keep that area clean because it is our 2nd balcony which doubles as a fire escape.

Hehe now Boomer thinks it's his right to go out there. EVery time I walk into the bedroom he thinks I'm going to let him out:rolleyes: :D :D
