She's so cute and funny...the pictures of Grover climbing up the wall remind me of those "Spiderman" movies...lol...but she's much cuter than any spiderman could ever be...

Torties always look very interesting...and I love their unique fur pattern...

She is so cute and I just love that stumpy tail. My RB Amanda had a tail injury that resulted in amputation of all but a small stump, and I thought it suit her nery well.;) Now, as for climbing the cabin walls................all I can say is I could never live there, could you just see 15 cats climbing the walls?!

Do you really think she has done that much growing? To me she just doesn't look like she has grown that much. I have been kind of worried because she is so much smaller than Stubby. I was just wondering if maybe her growth was stunted by the experience she has when she was first found.

Jen, I would love to see all your cats climbing my walls! That would really make a great picture, I can see it now! Great! Thanks for the replys.:)

It's hard for us to tell in pictures how big she is. I know when I post pictures that sometimes I am amazed at how small the big cat looks or how big the small cat looks! She might just be a small kitty. My Stubby never gets over 6 to 7 lbs. If they are healthy and happy then I guess it's just their genetics. I just know that she has grown alot from her first few pics! She was such a tiny little victim.
You need to repost her first pics with pics of her now. That might be fun to see how she has changed.http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif
How much does she weigh?

Kim thats what I was thinking when I seen your Amber pictures! They even favor in the face. Just Grover's stumpy tail. I wonder if that was some sort of birth defect or what. It is strange feeling at the end, the curl is just skin.

You Know I love little Grover. She has grown so much since I came to visit. She was a tiny kitten all snugled in your lap.:)

Tray, I wouldn't worry too much about Grover's size. As long as she is healthy. I had a little white kitty, she was 3 years old when I got her and she was only 6 pounds and stayed that weight until she went to RB. That's why I named her Squirty-Bums, cause she was such a little squirt.

It's so good to see Grover's baby pictures and to see how much she has grown into a healthy and happy little kitty.
She is so adorable.

I just saw the pictures of furbaby Grover and you are right she does look like the Tortie kitten here. She is now 2 1/2 weeks old and on the move. She is even cleaning herself now. She can Hiss and meow but haven't heard a purr out of her yet.

Grover is a beauty!!

Stella she is so cute, she looks like Grover did at Easter when she was eating the egg yolk. I won't never forget Grover's first purrs, I would put her up to my ear, and hear the most beautiful purr coming from her and it just made me feel so good to hear that. I got so excited I tried to get my husband to listen and well he can't stand to hear a cat purr, says it gets on his nerves.

But aren't they so cute

they both have those little ears sort of close to their head!

I think she is going to be every bit as pretty as Grover, she has the cutest little pink nose and little pink mouth! I am in love with her. She looks so precious. I wish I knew what Grover's mother and daddy looked like. I have drove around the neighborhood close to the school that she was found and I haven't seen any cat that favored her, though my older daugter said she seen one she thought looked a lot like Grover.

I would like to know who her parents are, gee who knows they could be criminals of some kind!!! LOL and Grover might want to start robbing banks or something...... ;)

The only thing Grover is guilty of stealing is your HEART!!! And that is the only crime she has committed. Aren't you lucky! This kittens parents are a brown and white female that carries the solid gene and a solid red, (not a red tabby) male, but he does show tabby markings. Here is a picture of the Dad.

That's one of my favorites too. She must have been like "Whoa, this is my bathroom? Cool!" :D

Now I have a suggestion, but please don't take it the wrong way. This is by no means a judgement of your cleanliness or anything like that because this is a problem that none of us can get away from.....but I've found that putting a rug under the litterbox somewhat helps to contain the litter that gets tracked out onto the floor. Notice though, that I say it somewhat contains it, because I really don't think there's anything available that will totally contain it. At the very least, it hides it a bit. ;) I've got 3 litterboxes in the basement, each with a rug underneath, and sometimes it seems like the entire basement is covered in litter  so there's no way you're going to eliminate it completely.

Ok, after all of that, remember it's just something that has somewhat worked for me, Grover is just so adorable. I just love all those baby pics of her, and can't believe she was so tiny when your daughter found her. I also can't believe those boys were mistreating such a tiny, tiny defenseless creature. I wish the same for them someday. Give Grove hugs and smoochies from me for being such a sweetie. :D

Tubby & Peanut's Mom, believe me I can use some suggestions in that area, because sometime she thinks her box should be perfect and sometime she digs it out onto the floor. She does not allow her litter box to be kept anywheres but right in the living room with me!

So I apprciate every and I mean every and any suggestions that you can give me, if you have anymore please, please feel free to offer me all that you have. Grover is a very spoiled baby, I need all the help I can get. Thanks for that suggestion, I never thought of it. That is a fantastic idea!:)

What size do you suggest? She usually ends up tracking it on me too! Thanks for your suggestions! And I do not take the wrong way at all.

Thank you very much!

Willie:) and her spoiled brat Grover:)

Another thing she does, and that is she has to have her food bowl on my desk, she has to have her own chair right beside my desk. I keep a little blanket in the chair for the little boss of the house.

I am just happy she doesn't insist on having her water up there too.

Whew! Sometime its tough being owned by a kitty!!!;)

Boy, food on the desk! She is a spoiled kitty! ;) :D But she deserves every bit of it.

As for a suggestion on the rug, I would think if you got one that fits under the entire table, it might look nice and be a functional, and something with a little "nubbiness" to it helps because it "grabs" the litter more than a rug that is just plain flat. The "nubbiness" also helps hid the litter more. ;) Have you tried a covered litterbox? I don't have one of those, but I know others do and it seems it would also somewhat help keep the litter contained - especially when she feels the need to dig to China. ;) :D Although some kitties don't like the covered ones, so that might not be an option for the little princess. ;)

The rugs are relatively easy to clean also. Just either vacuum, or since you have hardwood floors and probably don't vacuum much, just take it outside and shake it out. Although beware, because you'll probably be amazed at how much litter is in the rug. One time I just kept shaking and shaking and shaking and litter was still coming out! I just couldn't get rid of it all.

Good luck and let us know what you find. :)

I have a hooded litter box for Sunny, it has a filter that helps with oders too. It keeps dogs out of it because I turn the door of it towards a corner of the room. I think Sunny likes his privacy. The litter comes out a little in front, but not much.

trayi52
01-08-2004, 11:11 AM
I don't know if she would go for a covered one or not, but I could try it. I bought one for my RB kitty a few years ago, but she was so old she didn't want any part of it. Grover might love it though.

Grover is one of those that likes to dig to China! She can't stand for her box to get the least bit dirty, she keeps me busy cleaning that box. If I don't clean it when she thinks I should, she start trying to dig it all out in the floor. So she don't give it much time to develop odors. She pretty well has me trained well....

I have never had a cat that bossed me around like she does! Everything has to be her way, or no way at all. I admit I have her spoiled and she is my master! I have to what she tells me to do. ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions, if you have anymore, I am very willing to take all I can get.

Willie:)

I had to get somthing like the filtered one because mahayana can smell the first pee in the box, I clean Sunnys often too. Sunny is a neat freak too.LOL!

The things I had to do to have an animal in the house. His family never had animals in the house. So I have to bath the dogs every two weeks at least , and one flea would get them moved outside!

I know you take good care of your babies Willie. Any creature of yours is well cared for. I just like the filtered hooded litterbox really well. They look nice too. :D

Stella, I don't remember who won that one, the chicken? I think Grover was still just toddling around then. Her little tummy was swollen lookin, can you see that? I guess I worried the vet to death about her tummy looking like that. I kept thinking that she had some kind of injuries from being kicked. But they told me she was just fine.

Those kittys are so cute, that tortie is just sweet. I love their little ears how they come forward toward their face. How do you keep you hand off of them? Those little faces are so innocent.

Stella, I was really worried about Grover, I had never raised a little kitten before, I have raised lots of puppies, but not kittens. I remember when I first got Grover her little ears were like theirs too. I thought it was so cute. Then when she started like toddling, she walked with her head down, and ran into tables and walls.

I still want one of your little fuzzballs, they are so cute!!!

I think I see a tortie in your signature and avatar, don't I? Yes you just have to love them. Funny I didn't know that Grover was a tortie until I got to Pet Talk and my sister and everybody told me she was a tortie.

When I had her spayed, they called her color calico. So I thought that was her color. It is just amazing how much I have learned from everybody here at Pet Talk.

I mean I have really been educated in so many things, neutering, spaying, declawing, not to declaw. I can't believe all that I have learned here at Pet Talk. Thanks to Pet Talk and all the members of Pet Talk.
