We created the new forums for memorials in each category - Dog, Cat and Pet. Concern was expressed by Bisi.cat that announcements of a beloved pet's death were sometimes missed in the hustle and bustle of the "General" forums. So these will be permanent forums for such sad events, a way to let everyone know, and to celebrate pets ongoing presence in our hearts after we have had to say good-bye to them in person.

Great idea and as I said before, thank you for all you do in making this a wonderful website. I just wish there was something I could do in return for all your hard work, but all I have to offer is headbumpies from Specks and purrs from Max.

Thank you again.:) :)

This is a fantastic idea!! I am glad you thought of it. I have read so many sad stories of loss, and there should be a special place just for these beloved pets that have gone out of our lives.

Good Going, Karen!:)

Wonderful idea--I agree, sometimes these posts can get lost, and now we have a place to go and read these special words.

Thanks again Karen!!

I have moved a few threads, if you can think of ones that should be moved to the memorial forums, PM me with a link, and I'll do so.

bisi.cat should get the credit - it was her idea! :)

How far back do you want to go????

There's Gabe and Graemer
Pepper

and a few others from a year ago that I'm sure I've forgotten. If you want the links I can find them for you.

What a wonderful idea! Way to go bisi.cat and Karen. Now we won't miss such sadness...you know what they say, "happiness shared, is happiness doubled, and pain shared is pain divided".

I thought I had been particular dim, when I saw the Cat Memorial this morning. I thought I had managed to miss that section for a year ;)

Cataholic, I had never heard that but it is so true!

Bisi.cat what a wonderful idea!

Karen, thank you for adding this new forum for us. The one loss that I remember at the moment is K9Karen's dog, Cody. I will try and find the thread now.

Karen, I didn't want to add it to the Dog Memorial myself because it would be out of chronological order.

And there are poops on the laundry floor, the cats have pulled down the net curtains in the bedroom (again) and a new forum has appeared in Pet Talk! :D

Great idea, though, a good way for everyone to commemorate pets who have just passed to the bridge and to remember those who have in the years past.

The first dead pet before s/he was on Pet of the Day was on the date of November 30th, 1997. A dog named Barkly was about 15 years old when he died.

Thank you Cookiebaker. That is so sweet of you to remember
my Buddy.:) He is in my thoughts everyday & the last one I
say goodnight to every evening. It makes me feel better that
someone else remembers him too. Liz.
