I don't know....I stay away from such slang...generally, unless I am trying to seem silly.

I think it can go either way, but personally, I'd say "Don't diss GP girl."

Since it likely is a variety of "disrespect" i'll go with option two. "Don't disrespect on G.P. girl" doesnt work for me.
Don't disrespect G.P. girl.... that works for me.

I agree - Diss is short for disrespect - so you don't need the "on."

Well, language changes... perhaps this word is shifting too.

I've never heard "diss on", I've only heard "diss".

However, I think they both sound stupid, personally. :p

Same here.
I haven't heard anyone use "diss" since junior high. It's a little immature, IMO.

I agree w/Twisterdog..they both sound silly and could only imagine them in a comedy scene. Like bling bling. I think it's funny out of context. But in real conversation I'd think "whas da?" LOL ;) :D

really? I don't work around junior high students anymore but I still hear it from time to time. Not as much as I used to. I do think it may be on the way out, though. Slang words come and go... perhaps you were in junior high when it peaked as a slang word...it was EVERYwhere for a while.... like jonzin, like wack... slang words come and go.

Yep, I remember when EVERYONE used it! I guess it was the "in" thing to say. :p Now that I'm in high school, none of my friends use it, and I haven't heard anyone say it.

exactly my point. used to be EVERYONE used it, not just junior high kids....

does that make "diss" immature, or just outdated?

I think it could be a little of both, but you're right, it's just outdated.

[IMO] , i dont think that "diss" is immature...i just CANT see myself saying "WHOA he just totally disrespected you!!!" cause i find that since they have been used so much and like how many words in the English language get transformed into different meanings..i find that "diss" means more of "insulted" then "disrespected"

so back to my point, i dont think diss is immature, because like it was used by adults and teens and children, but its true, maybe we only hear it now in high schools (cause they sure do say it at my school and it seems totally normal) but i dont think that it makes it immature;) i think its more of a slang word that people and especially teens find more easy or quick or cool to say..i surely dont say it to be "cool" but i say it cause that's just what comes out..i hear it so much (being in a highschool and everything) that it is just a common-everyday word:)

and also, i think "Diss" not "Diss on" sounds better..i've never heard "diss on";)
