I haven't, but I've heard from a lot of people who have. It reduced the risk of a female rat developing tumors from about 70% to about 4%, but it's a risky operation. What a hard decision to make... :(

I have been talking to some people on a rat forum and they all have mixed feelings about it, some say it is a good thing to do, *reduces risk of cancer ect.*, some say it isnt worth the risk * going under * :(..
So i dont know.

http://www.ratlovers.org/articles/neuter.html
This link has the cost in it-
Hope they help.

Do you think you could get her another female so she can have a cage friend? So she wont have to stay with the boys?

Like i stated befor, i dont have a big enough cage for her to live in by her self, or with another female.
have you seen the pics of her current cage??? it is small. :(..just big enough for her at the moment.

Maybe ask your parents for a bigger cage?

If you talk to the people on rfc, alot of them have gotten their rats spayed. I haven't seen a single post about complications yet.
I'd lend you my spare cage, but your rats could fit out of it. Icarus can fit through the bars, and I know Frisco could if he tried hard enough. :(

maybe its easier to get the boys fixed? & maybe if u ask the vet to do all the boys at once it may cost less
