Hey everyone,

Have all of you had at least one of your cats be Cat of the Day? I was just wondering how long it takes, I know there are tons of cats competing for the coveted title. I have submitted my cats for it several times over the course of the year and I haven't gotten any response, I was just curious...........I keep telling Priss she's going to be famous and she wants to know when ;) :p :D

I think it can take a little while. I haven't submitted our cats (yet!), but I did submit a photo of my mum's cat, who is my Jessica's baby boy. :D He was honoured as Cat of the Day in January, but I think it took about 7 or 8 months. Here's a photo of him.

Good luck with the nomination.

I still can't take pics I like good enough to submit.

I do know that it can take a long time due to the numerous amount of submissions.

We choose based on image quality, story quality and length, completeness of information, how recently we've featured a cat that looks like that, and a whimsy and randomness thrown in. I'll check the status of your nominations.

Today I just noticed that Corkscrew was COTD last month :) It took a few months for him to become COTD.

With Filou it took some months and with Tigris more than a year;)

Now there aren't any cats left I could submit.

Thanks for all your responses, especially to Karen for checking my status, I think I will resubmit my pics too to make sure you have the best and most up to date info. I am in no way complaining, I just wanted to know everyone elses experiences :D

I know that it does take a while...I think it took 7 or 8 months before they posted Jack's (2/19/03):

Ali has never been COTD, even though I have submitted her picture a few times...I may just have to submit it again ;)

don't forget the PT motto - "we know every pet is special" - even if a kitty isn't a COTD at PetTalk, its still a special kitty.

I've never gotten around to sending in a pic (maybe I'm waiting for the one special picture that is a cut above the others) but my kitties are always my COTD's each and every day.

Also, if you just post a pic of your kitties in Cat General, you'll get plenty of Pettalkers swooning over what cute kitties you have.

I've only been a member for 6 months so it really hasn't been that long. I sent in a photo of Kuhio which is good. But since she is a Rainbow Bridge kitty, they may not use it anytime soon. I need to get some good pictures of Halo and Cammie and submit them some day.
