Katie is 8 months old today!

Hi All,

Katie is 8 months old today. I just can't believe! She is growing so fast. She has been staying steady at about 67 pounds lately. It is raining today so of course she wants to keep going outside. I don't get it..but she loves the rain. Her last trip out I didn't check on her enough and when I did she was all muddy! I swear she is trying to dig to China! I cleaned her up the best that I could and had her take a timeout in her crate. She is sound asleep and when the mud dries I will brush her out real good. We put up the Christmas tree last night and Katie was right there to help. She didn't bother anything just wanted to sniff and see what we were doing. But....this morning she snatched an ornament off the tree and chewed its little head off. Ornery pup! It was a little stuffed ornament so maybe she thought it was a stuffed toy for her...lol. I LOVE my Katie Girl!

Happy 8th month Birthday Katie!! Dale was 67 lbs on Monday...and is about 70 now!! :eek: :eek: Is she considered to be a big Akita? I am not sure what their size range is.

Anyway, glad she didn't get an ornament that could have harmed her...at least it was a stuffed one!! Dale could care less about the tree...just barks at it occasionally (which is a typical Swissie thing to do...bark at things that seem out of the norm).

She sounds like Dale with that digging in the mud....i think they must be digging to meet each other or something...b/s he seems like he is on a mission when he does it!! LOL! Puppies...gotta love them!! I am glad that she has been there with you through all of the hard times you have had with the cancer...i am sure she will remain a very special doggy to you through out the upcoming years and will hold a special place in your heart that only she could fill!!

We got your card today, and Katie looks sooo grown up and dignified on the front, it's hard to believe she was that silly puppy we met in Ohio! How fast they grow, huh? Happy days for you both! :) What a big beautiful girl, and what a happy dog-mom! :)
