Our New Companion

We lost our family companion last June due to cancer. He was a Boston Terrier we called Bandit. We had a bunch of fun with him and really missed him being around. After a few months without our dog companion our whole Family started talking about getting a new companion. There was something missing in our lives.

Today we brought home our new companion he is the cutest thing. He is a mixed breed dog. Mother was 50:50 Dogue de Bordeux and American Bulldog, the father was all Dogue de Bordeux. We call Him Merlin. He is a sweet pup that likes to be handled. Can't wait to see how big he will get. My youngest son is sleeping on the kitchen floor with Merlin tonight to keep him company.

Cutie! It looks like a boxer to me, but congrats on the new addition!

He does look like a boxer in the pictures. When you see him in person with those green eyes and wrinkely face he looks a bit more mastiff like. We will really have to wait and see. Its hard to tell with mixed breeds sometimes how they will turn out. Some of the littermates looked just like the father all mastiff. We liked the blaze on his nose and how he followed us around when we were at the house.

I agree, he does look like a boxer. Do boxers come in that color? My grandma has a fawn boxer and a brindle boxer AND a boston terrier, which i think is kinda like a mini boxer and she also has a standard poodle. Welcome to Pet Talk Hope you share more pictures soon

Merlin just went potty outside. I made sure to give him lots of praise. I am staying home today to help him make a comfortable transition. He appears to be paper trained already and I think he will house train well. He does not mind being rolled to his back and having his belly rubbed, he also listens to the word NO so far.
