Breed Rescues

Most of the more common breeds of purebred dogs have
rescue
organizations that specialize in their specific
breed.
These are also good places to look for a pet for a
senior
citizen. To search on the Internet for a specific
breed
rescue center, go to the Pets A-Z (www.petsa-z.com)
site,
select dog clubs and organizations, and then the
breed
you're interested in.

Do not be put off by their thorough investigation of
the
prospective home. Their primary interest is doing
the best
they can for the dog. Sometimes the animal must
travel a
considerable distance to get to the new home. Many
rescue
groups have relay teams to transport dogs to a new
home, so
don't eliminate a possibility just because of
distance.
