Remember my stray, Dexter? The one I found last fall? Well, tonight my daughter and I and one of her friends had the opportunity to spend several hours with our beloved friend and his dad. He is absolutely beautiful!! And quite the big boy, but not fat at all. And his true personality has come out, finally. He is energetic, fast, and quite the licker! We didn't need a bath because we got so many kisses!!! What an affirmation that our stray, rescued friends do find forever homes. Dexter has certainly found his. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif First thing he did when he saw me was to jump up and give me a big, muddy, puppy paw print right on the front of my white shirt!!! And I didn't even care.

I forgot one thing...I sniffed his feet, and guessed what. He has Frito Feet too!!

The infamous "Frito Feet" strikes again! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
It's is such a happy ending to what could have been a sad tale. I'm so happy about Dexter. When I first visted this site, Dexter was the topic of conversation. Dexter is also the name of one of my favorite cousins. So, Dexter has a special place in my heart. I'm so glad he and your friend found each other!

Doesn't that always happen when you wear white? My mother always said "white attracts dirt." http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

That's great Logan! What a happy reunion. I couldn't be more thrilled for Dexter, and you guys, and his new dad! The best part...all those licks and kisses! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif He sounds like a very happy boy. And how special that he remembered you. And you just know he's a contended guy. It takes a lot of comfy down time paw licking and basting to develop the aroma of eau de frito! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

And the beat goes on. Thanks for the update Logan. This has got to give you such a great feeling.

"Eau de Frito" ...what a stitch, Tats. Too bad they can't bottle that and "Puppy Breath".

Hey Rachel! I thought of you on Saturday! A girl at the beauty salon always brought in her Bassett Hound and to make a long story short, Greta recently went to Rainbow Bridge very suddenly. I hadn't seen this girl and was very concerned, she is very emotional over her dog, like us, but luckily she was away, not too sick. Suddenly, on Sat., my friend screams my name, I come running and lo and behold, Holly holds out to me a baby puppy boy Bassett Hound named Winston Churchill!! The reason I thought of you was that 2 people other than fanatical me, said "awe, puppy breath!!!!!" I nearly died! And laughed and sniffed and kissed and hugged, and puppysat while Holly had her hair washed and Winston fell asleep in my arms and I was in heaven and almost crying from his beauty and innocence and yearning so badly for another puppy. And, of course I took a sniff of his soft, pink puppy padded feet and there was a trace of Fritos, sure to become a future grand master! Sooo adorable!! He's 8 wks old and already housebroken with no crate!

Thanks Karen, I hope you took a couple extra whiffs for me. Little puppy snouts are so kissable too. Bet little Winston got loved up a bunch before he was handed back.

Oh Karen. If you see him again, big kisses and suck up as much puppy breath as you can! I had a simialr experience today. A 7 week old baby daschund came into the kennel to enroll in puppy-K. Boy, did HE get passed around! All warm, soft belly, sweet puppy breath and soft brown eyes! I couldn't let him go. OOooooooooh! What a precious baby! And what a proud Mama! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I know! Totally irresistable! Winston's not even mine and I wouldn't hand him over to anyone, (so selfish), pet and kiss, but no, you can't hold him! Poor Cody just sniffed me up and down when I came home, gave a snort, then stuck his head and nose up in the air and walked away! So jealous! Just had to LOL! Hope I see Winston again this weekend! My lips are puckered and ready to go!!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif
